We would like to inform the salafis in UK about the situation with Stoke Poges Lane Masjid in Slough, Berkshire.
Shaykh Muhammad Al-Banna advised the salafis in Slough to abandon this masjid last year in October after doing tabdee? of the chief imam of the masjid (Abdul Jabbaar Alvi). This imam was known for his hatred towards the salafis and the salafi da?wah of laa ilaaha illallaah. He spoke out against the salafiyoon (general people and the kibaar ?ulema of today) and their sacred da?wah (the da?wah of the anbiyyah) from the mimbar. He warned people against the salafis, he handed out a leaflet called ?the filthy beliefs of the salafis?, he promoted a book in which the author claimed Imaam Abu Haneefah knew the knowledge of the unseen (that he saw Allaah 99 times in a dream and he also prepared a list of his students who will enter jannah), etc & etc. When this imam was approached by our beloved brother Abdulilah Lahmami last year in summer conference, he denied to sit with the brother to answer questions regarding his beliefs and actions.
Based on the above we contacted the noble Shaykh and father, Muhammad Ibn Abdul Wahhaab al-Banna. After hearing the truth about the imam at the masjid, the shaykh advised us ?this man is an enemy of the sunnah and an enemy of ahlus sunnah?, and that we should establish our own musallah and that we should learn from the books of hadeeth together and that we should stick together.
Also, last year when Shaykh Fawzee Al-Atharee was in UK we asked him about the deobandees in general, and he said that ?as for the ?ulema of the deobandees, then they are kuffaar for their beliefs in wahdatul wujood, etc?. And when we asked him specifically about praying behind a man (i.e. imam at Stoke Poges Masjid, Slough) whose ?aqeedah we are not sure of, but in his actions we have seen some serious deviations. But he wouldn?t sit with us to discuss his ?aqeedah, the shaykh advised us ?if we have few salafis in the town then we should establish our own musalla?.
Recently, due to some people trying to spread confusion about the fatwa of the Shaykh al-Banna, we asked the Shaykh once again about our position of complete abandonment of the masjid. The Shaykh confirmed that we are right in what we have done (i.e. abandonment of the masjid completely) and that we are right in our decision. (This was emailed to us by Abdulilah Lahmami last week ? in this email the Shaykh gave glad tidings to the brother in Slough as well)
We ask the brothers who have gone back to the masjid to come back to the shop and to have fear of Allaah. And stick to the kalaam of the ulema and don?t raise their voices above the voice of the scholars, and not to split the ranks of the salafis. Indeed we will be returned back to Allaah, the Mighty and The Majestic.
We have invited the brothers previously to discuss the issues and they have refused, so now we have invited them again this time having a link-up with Shaykh Muhammad al-Banna and he will be the judge in our affairs. We await for the brothers reply to this.
SalafiBookstoreSlough is where the salafis establish their salawaat in Slough and this is where we learn knowledge from the books of ?aqeedah and manhaj. This is the point of contact regarding da?watus Salafiyyah in this town.
