Sheikh Muhammad Abdulwahhab Marzooq al-Banna completed the rebuilding of his new masjid - Ansaar Sunnah al Muhammadiyyah - in Hay safa district, Jeddah yesterday.
The sheikh was very worried not to make the masjid too big with decoration so the Ikhwanis do not try and take it with their plots and plans. The sheikh has not put a minaret on his masjid as he says this is not from the sunnah nor from companions etc rather he has just raised a speaker high above the masjid and said that was sufficient. He also said that the minaret is a waste of money and it is an imitation of the christian churches that had a bell at the top of it.
So he says there was no basis for us to have one. Some people, due to this, complained but the sheikh stood firm and said bring me proof that it is sunnah or that the companions used one and i will accept.
The sheikh wanted to keep the Masjid simple so that the Ikhwaanil Muslimeen do not try to take over the masjid. The sheikh said that the frogs and scorpians of the ikhwaanil muslimeen would try and take over masaajid by appointing their own imaams and through the teaching of the Quran.
The sheikh does not allow any posters to be put up in his masjid except for salafi material or for salafi conferences. Other than that he takes them down.
The sheikh is very very careful mashaallaah regarding being distinct in our da'wah from that of the Ikhwaanis, Surooris, Qutobees and he refutes them from time to time in his masjid mentioning names of those refuted like Sayid Qutb, Hasan al Banna, Safar al Hawaali, Salman al Awdah, Abul Hasan, Maghraawi, Adnan Urur etc. He refutes them openly when he talks about issues related to their deviation or newly invented principles they have brought. Many of the general people hear this as well so they can becareful at least to know who they are in case they hear of them.
At over 90 years mashaallaah he has laid the foundations of da'watu salafiyyah in the two days that he comes to Jeddah Saturday and Sunday, teaching the people the Sunnah upon the way of the Companions. May Allaah have mercy upon the Sheikh and give him good health.
قال تعالى:{إنا نحن نزلنا الذكر وإنا له لحافظون}
قال الشيخ السعدي - رحمه الله - في تفسيره (3/31): " فلا يحرف محرف معنى من معانيه( القرآن ) إلا وقيض الله له من يبين الحق المبين وهذا من أعظم آيات الله ونعمه على عباده المؤمنين".
