By the grace and bounty of Allah, some Salafee brothers have been given the ability to establish the first seeds of the clear call to the Salafee dawah in The Gambia. Since this noble effort has began interest in the Salafee Dawah has grown rapidly in the local area. To further increase this awareness and understanding of the blessed and upright Aqeedah and Manhaj of our Salaf we at Daarul Athaar Gambia have organised this talk with the aim of educating our brothers and sisters in The Gambia whilst raising awareness in the rest of the world of our aims to firmly establish the Salafee dawah in the country. May Allah make us successful in that making all our actions purely for Him and upon the way of His messenger sallahu alaihee wassalam. Ameen!!

             Daarul Athaar: Our Objectives:

?     To purify and rid from all aspects of our lives, the filth of shirk, kufr and bida`h which has been the reason for the humiliation and suffering of the Muslims. As such, we are returning to that which corrected to first part of this Ummah. We are teaching the pure Islamic `aqeedah. Concentrating upon it, emphasizing its importance and giving it sufficient lessons.

?     Returning back to the Book and the Sunnah upon the understanding of the Salaf. Holding tightly to the jamaa?ah of the Messenger (sallaallahu `alaihi was sallam) and turning away from the places of obscurity and unclarity which separates the united.

?     Fighting, striving and repelling the evils of those who oppose this way such as the Ahmadiyyah, Jamaa?tu Tabliigh and the Christian Missionaries who are active in their calls. Advising and refuting them so that the word of Allah becomes supreme, and so that the truth becomes lucid for whoever wishes to follow it.

?     Establishing the foundations, which by the permission of Allah will bring about the jamaa?ah of the Muslims, as the Sunnah of the Messenger (sallallahu `alaihi was sallam) has legislated for us. The laws of Allah can then be implemented upon the face of this earth, returning the strength and honour  rightfully back to the Muslims.

?     To have a firm relationship with the scholars of this time. Consulting and referring matters back to them as we have been instructed by Allah and His Messenger.

?     Establishing centers, schools and masjids throughout the region so that the young will be cultivated upon the correct `aqeedah, from where da`wah can be effectively propagated and which will give us solidity in our fight against the callers to innovation and misguidance operating within the region.

?     Employing as many media outlets as are available to facilitate our da`wah efforts. We are trying to distribute free publications such as articles and magazines. A radio station from where the jewels from the `ulema (scholars), and words of advice from the du`aat (callers) in this country and abroad can be broadcasted to an entire nation free from the adulterations of ahlul bida`h is also envisaged.

?     Distributing and acquainting the people with the Qur aan, the Sunnah, and pure books of the Salaf, so that they may orientate themselves by these and with which they may progress in  their deen.

?     To cooperate with all those who traverse upon this methodology, whether they are nationals or are from abroad, welcoming and aiding those who intend to make Hijrah to this land.

>> ABOUT US

1) Our da'wah is based upon Tawheed. Tawheed in all of its aspects. Establishing complete oneness of Allaah in His Lordship, Worship, and in His Names and Attributes.

2) We have faith in Allaah upon what He described Himself with in His Book, and what His Messenger Muhammad (sallallaahu alaihi was sallam) described Him with. In doing so, we neither fall into tahreef, nor ta`teel and without takyeef or tamtheel.

3) We call to the manhajul ambiyaa which is based upon the Book and the authentic Sunnah. We are not blind followers, and neither do we call to the obstinate and bigoted clinging to personalities, groups or parties. The truth is more beloved to us than our own selves, our fathers and our wealth. We accept it wherever it emanates from . We clarify it, call to it and do not turn away from it lest we be destroyed.

4) We adopt the correct Islamic loyalty. A sound loyalty in its proper manner, according to the legislation of Allaah. Hence we restrict and bind ourselves within these limits whenever we take a position of intimacy towards an individual or something, doing so in a manner which Allaah has ordered us.

5) The companions of the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu alaihi was sallam) are beloved to us, and we resent any individual who speaks ill of them.

6) We love the scholars , those who preceeded from the Salaf of the Ummah all the way down to the present day scholars who have followed in goodness (in aqeedah and manhaj).

7) We do not pronounce Muslims to be unbelievers due to the commission of any sin with the exception of shirk, apostasy and so long as the individual does not declare the sin to be permissible.

8) We rigidly hold as our position that revolving against the Muslim rulers is both erroneous and unfruitful in initiating reform. Rather, we advise our rulers in accordance with the way of the Salaf-us Saalih.

9) We judge in every matter by the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu alaihi was sallam) and ijmaa` (unanimous consensus) to resolve all our affairs.

10) We concern ourselves in the purification of all the parts constituting our lives from; shirk in its numerous shades, innovations in aqeedah (creed), manhaj (methodology), and sulook (manners). Thus enabling sound Islamic solutions to the contemporary issues that we face today.

11) Awakening the correct Islamic way of life, and striving to bring into effect a community orientated by the revelation in order that the laws of Allaah be implemented upon the lands, having as its basis, tasfiiyah (purification and correction) followed by tarbiiyah (cultivation and education).

12) We call the entire ummah to grasping the Book and the Sunnah because we hold that our obligation is to co-operate with the group that traverses the methodology of the Salaf, in terms of calling to Allaah the Glorified, and being sincere in the worship of Him, and warning against shirk, bid`ah and disobedience, and to advise all of the groups that oppose this.

13) We believe that any of the affairs over which the Sahaabah unanimously agreed upon is free from error and it is not permissible for any one to leave it as their ijmaa` is a Sharee`ah proof for us as it is for those who adhere to their jamaa`ah, traverse upon their trail and bind themselves to their principles and foundations. Why? Because the Salaf understood this deen better than any of us.

14) We never accept any speech or ijtihaad except after having weighed them against three: the Qur aan, Sunnah and Ijmaa` of the Salaf. Rather the words of everyone can either be accepted or rejected except those of the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu alaihi was sallam). All our words and actions are therefore in exact correspondence with those of our beloved scholars whose words and actions by necessity are in accordance with the Sunnah of the Prophet (sallallaahu alaihi was sallam), neither preceeding it or contradicting it.

15) Our da`wah is not something born today nor is it a reaction to something. It is a da`wah with a solid foundation of continuity between the Messengers (`alaihim salaam) all the way up to the Mujadiddeen (revivers) and then to this time. There is a continuous transmission which links our da`wah to the da`wah of the ambiyaa (prophets).

16) We never in any shape or form co-operate with ahlul bida` (people of innovation), neither spreading their books nor sitting with them and listening to their adulterated kalaam (speech).

17) Our da`wah is based upon the prophetic manhaj, and thus we seek to bring the jamaa`ah of the Muslims in accordance to it. We therefore shun any other methodology, which is employed to bring it about.
