Justice In All Affairs

Shaikh Muhammad Bin Saalim Baazmool (hafidha-hullaah) stated:

It is widespread among some people that 'Al-Wasat' is only what is between two things, and they do not pay attention to the other meaning/s of this word stated in the Great Qur'aan and the Prophetic Sunnah!!

'Al-Wasat' in the Islamic Legislation is: 'Al-Adlul Khiyaar' [The Most Superior Justice]

Allaah [Ta-aalaa] said:

'Guard strictly (five obligatory) prayers especially the 'Salaat Al-Wustaa' [Al-Baqarah: Ayah: 238]  And 'Al-Wustaa' means: The best,  most upright and excellent of them.'

Allaah (Ta-aalaa) said:

'Min Awsat (On a scale of the average of that with which) you feed your own families' [Al-Maa-dah: Ayah: 89].  That is: The best and most just.

Allaah [Ta-aalaa] said:

'Thus We have made you 'Ummatan Wasatan'[Al-Baqarah: Ayah: 143].  That is: The best and most just.

The intent in all of that: is to understand that 'Al-Wasatiyyah' in the religion is Superior Goodness and the Just Nature Of Religion; and that is by way of following the command of Allaah and keeping away from that which He has forbidden..........

Imaam Sadi (rahimahullaah) stated:

Allaah (Ta-aalaa) said:

'Verily, Allaah enjoins Adl (Justice)' [An-Nahl: Ayah:90]

And Allaah (Ta-aalaa) said:

'Say (O Muhammad): My Lord has commanded justice' [Al-Araaf: Ayah:29]

The Aayaat commanding justice and forbidding what is in opposition to it are many.  'Justice' in all affairs necessitates the (presence) of boundaries in that, and not being excessive and exceeding the limits; as on the other hand (you) do not fall short and abandon (some of the rights that are either incumbent upon you to fulfil or rights incumbent upon you to fulfil towards others)

In the worship of Allaah, the Qur'aan in many Aayaat commands adherence to that which the Prophet (traverse) upon; and in many Aayaat it forbids going beyond bounds in that and transgression against the limits; and in many Aayaat it censured those who fall short.  The worship that Allaah commanded is gathered upon sincerity to the true object of worship (Allaah) and following the Messenger; and that which is deprived of these two affairs or one of them is from those deeds that are nullified.

The Rights Of The Prophets  And Messengers
(alayhimus-Salaam)

The Qur'aan commands moderation with regards to the rights of the Prophets and the Messengers;  and that is to believe in them, loving them with a love that supersedes love of all the creation, respecting and following them and being acquainted with their ranks and levels which Allah honoured them with.

In many Aayaat, the Qur'aan forbids going into excess with regards to their (affair); and that is raising them above the station Allaah has placed them and giving them from the rights of Allaah, regarding which He (The Most High) does not share anything of that with anyone; just as the Qur'aan forbids falling short in fulfilling their rights with regards to believing in them, loving them, respecting and following them.

In many Aayaat, the Qur'aan censured those who deviated from their (path), such as the Christians and those similar to them with regards to the (affair) of Eesaa (alayhis-salaam); just as it censured those who shun them, such as the Yahood when they said what they said about Eesaa.   The Qur'aan censured those who wish to  make a distinction between them by believing in some and not in others, and it informs (us) that this (action) is disbelief in all of them.

The Rights Of The Ulamaa And The Awliyaa

Likewise, this affair is connected to the affair of the Ulamaa and the Awliyaa; it is obligatory to love them and to be acquainted with their ranks.  It is not permissible to go into excess with regards to their (affair) and to give them something from the specific rights of Allaah and His Messenger; and it is not permissible to shun them and have enmity towards them, for whoever has enmity towards a Waliy of Allaah, then indeed He (The Most High) has declared war against him......

Knowledge Of The Tabaqaat (levels)Of The Scholars

Shaikh Ahmad Bin Umar Bin Saalim Baazmool (hafidha-hullaah) said:

Not everyone who delivers to the people and speaks amongst them is qualified to be an Aalim, because the deliverers (of knowledge) are of levels.

[1]Amongst them are the Ulamaa Al-Mujtahideen, Ijtihaadan Mutlaqan (i.e. those scholars who have the ability to carry out ijtihaad in every baab of fiqh); those who are returned to in the affairs of the Nawaazil(i.e. The very important affairs of general public safety, security and well being. etc)

[2] Amongst them are the Mujtahideen, Ijtihaadan Juz-i (i.e. those scholars who only have ability to perform ijtihaad in a particular baab)

[3] And amongst them are the students of knowledge who have not reached the level of the scholars.

The [last two classes (2&3)

Amongst them are those who learn a little of knowledge and then proceed to give sermons and dawah.  Knowledge is not taken from this class of people except in the arena of admonitions and general guidance.

Therefore, it is obligatory to know and distinguish between these levels (i.e. 1, 2 and 3); and it is obligatory to know that not everyone who delivers to the people is suitable to give them Fataawah.

Reader:

Pay attention to the statements of Shaikh Ahmad Baazmool as follows:

'Not everyone who delivers to the people and speaks amongst them is qualified to be  an Aalim; because the deliverers (of knowledge) are of levels.'

'And it is obligatory to know that not everyone who delivers to the people is suitable to give them fataawah.'

Walil-laahil Hamd, we are to love and respect all the Salafi deliverers of knowledge, but one must be mindful of exaggeration.   The Kibaar such as the likes of Shaikh Saaleh Al-Fawzaan, Shaikh Zaid Bin Haadee, Shaikh Rabee Bin Haadi Al Madkhali, Shaikh Saaleh As-Suhaymi and others are the ones with the Ilm and Baseerah that enables one to make a judgement on the Levels, Titles and Abilities the Salafi deliverers of knowledge are to be recognized with.

We know well that the students of the Ulamaa are not all at the same level in rank and understanding.  The students of Shaikh Bin Baaz, Shaikh Muqbil, Shaikh Saaleh Al-Fawzaan, Shaikh Rabee, Shaikh Ubaid and others are not at the same level; therefore we return to the ulama to inform us of the levels of the deliverers of knowledge when the need arises.

Imaam Al-Albaanee informed us that Shaikh Rabee is the Imaam of Jarh Wat-Tadeel of our era; Shaikh Bin Baaz informed us that Shaikh Fawzaan, Shaikh Abdul Azeez Aalaa Shaikh and others are from the ulamaa and Shaikh Saaleh As-Suhaymi and Shaikh Rabee informed us that Shaikh Ubaid and others similar to him are from the Ulamaa.

These Kibaar are the ones with the qualifications, knowledge, wisdom and foresight that enables them to make such judgements, because the affairs are to be returned to its rightful people.

And Allaah knows best

To be continued........Inshaa-Allaah
