Sheikh Ahmad An-Najmi was asked on the 9th of January, 2003 the following question concerning Abu Usaamah Adh-Dhahabi:

"O Shaykh Ahmad we have with us in America a man called abu usaamah who is considered to be from the Du'aat, he aids and supports abu hasan and he calls some noble salafi brothers gulaat (extremists), muqallidah (blind followers),and muhqiboon (the people whose religion is the religion of the one they blindly follow), so what is the legislated position from this man and how should we deal with him?"

The sheikh answered:

"موقفكم منه كموقفكم من أهل البدعة , أعرض عنه و اتركه"

"Your position from him is the same as your position from the people of innovation. Turn away from him and abandon him."

The tape is available with the bros. at Dar Al-Hadeeth in Philadelphia, PA U.S.A.

Baarak Allaahu feekum

And I advise myself firstly, and then all of my brothers and sisters in Islaam with the insight the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu 'alayhe wa sallam) gave us as guidance, as found in the hadeeth in Sunan At-Tirmithee:

أحبب حبيبك هونا ما عسى أن يكون بغيضك يوما ما

"Love your loved one moderately, as one day he may become someone you have hatred for"

Allaahu akbar!  When it becomes clear to us that people defend the people of innovation, turn away from the scholars, speak against them and against those who are with them from the students of knowledge, then WE MUST SAVE OURSELVES FROM THEIR EVIL, and we must try our best to save others from their evil as well.

The fact that a person seemed to be upon the salafee da'wah, and all we knew about him was good, does not secure him from leaving that goodness, as the hearts of the servants of Allaah are between His Fingers, He turns them as He wills.  May Allaah keep us upon as-salafiyyah.

I beg my brothers and sisters in Islaam, those who feel emotionally attached to Aboo Usaamah, to put the taqwaa of Allaah in front of your emotions, put your love for the Haqq and its people in front of your emotions, put your love for your own guidance and correctness in front of your emotions, and LEAVE this man as your 'ulamaa' are telling you.  Know that he is a man whose tongue is only used these days to defend the people of bid'ah and his own mistakes and to attack the salafees and call them names, those who have stood up to do that which is WAAJIB on them.  His reality is known directly from his own tongue.

And Allaah knows best.

All praise and thanks are for Allah and peace and blessings be upon His noble messenger sallahu alayhi wa salaam.

May Allah allow us to remain firm against the rejected and despicable principles of Aboo Usaamah and other than him. This issue of his reminds me of the question that Abdur-Rahman bin Mahdee asked Maalik ibnul Anas may Allah be pleased with them both about the SUNNAH. So Maalik ibnul Anas responded by saying that it doesn't have any other name but Sunnah and then he recited the ayat in surah al-Anam { 153 } " AND VERILY THIS IS MY PATH SO FOLLOW IT AND FOLLOW NO OTHER PATHS FOR THEY WILL SEPARATE YOU AWAY FROM HIS PATH } So the Sunnah is clear and its principles have been established and the reality of Aboo Usaamah is he chosed to leave the protection of Ahlus-Sunnah and entrust his affairs with those who have chosen a path other the that of Ahlus-Sunnah. This path is Bidah and Shubahaat like Mujahid explained when he commented on this ayat. This ayat generalizes all innovation. So the issue isn't personal and the points that have been established against him aren't personal but rather we have a problem with this wicked path he has chosen to cling to. His way isn't the minhaj of the Prophets but rather they where invented and spread by his teacher Aboo Hasaan al-Ma'rabee. So the principles of the minhaj are clear and we advise Aboo Usaamah to cling to the major scholars and learn from them because maybe Allah will one day decree for the resources of knowledge to run out.

Love for Ahlus-Sunnah wa Hadeeth Aboo Zaahid
