Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Raheem.

As-Salaamu alaikum.

Is it safe to read Islamic material translated by Ahlul-Bid'ah?

eg. The Prophet's (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) Prayer Described by Imam al-Albanee (rahimahullah) - translated by Muhammad al-Jibalee

Just a correction of what was written in the question above;

The Prophets (sallallaahu ?alaihi wasallam) prayer by Shaykh Naasir ud-deen Al-Albaani(rahimahullah) is not translated by Muhammad al-Jibalee, its translated by Suhaib Hasan who is in the Uk.

al-hamdulillaah it was not translated by suhayb hasan, rather it was suhayb hasan's son Usaamah (according to my copy).  I hope that his situation is better than his father's.  Does anyone know anything about Usaamah?

Jazakullahu khairan for the correction Moosaa.

Here is the full title:

(PEACE AND MERCY OF ALLAAH BE UPON HIM)
from beginning to end, as though you were watching it.

Muhammad Naasir ad-Deen al-Albaani
Translated to English by Usama bin Suhaib Hasan

Akhee Moosaa baraka lahufek, ur absolutely right as my copy also says Usama ibn Suhaib Hasan.
Left the name Usama out by mistake though as i just glanced over the cover when writing my post.
I can see it makes a bit of a difference wallahul mustaan.

As salam alaykum,

Just as a side question? Has anyone made tabdee of Hamza Yusuf? If no one has, may we read his works if it is only a translation? Allaahee Barafeekum.

Assalamu Alaikum

Unfortunatelt the condition of the son is no better than the father and the Salafee brothers in England are witness to this.  Also the Printers of the book Jamiyah Minhaj As-Sunnah are in reality Jamiyah Minhaj As-Surooriyah/Qutubiyah and have been warned against and are open enemies of the Salafee brothers in England.

al-Hamdu-Lillaahi Rabbil-'Aalameen was-Salaatu was-Salaamu 'alaa Ashrafil-Anbiyaa.e wal-Mursaleen, wa ba'd:

Brothers Aboo Muaadh and Abul Qayyim what difference does it make if he is labelled an innovator or not? This is not a condition that one has to have the hukm of Mubtadhi before he is warned against. This hukm is also only applied by the scholars and not the layman like me or you. This is one of the doubts that the hizbees bring to the salafis; is he a mubtahdi? If he is not then he is ok and we can sit with him and take knowledge from him.

Rather, if we know a person to be a caller to hizbiya and he rejects all the advice that is given to him, then we stay away from him and we warn the people about him and we dont indulge in kalaam with him regardless if the hukm of mubtahdi has been applied to him or not.

To give some examples, no one that I know has given the hukm of mubtahdi to Sohaib Hasan or Abu Haweeya or to Dr.(Of desires) Jibaly or Abu Muslimah etc... So what do we say now? Do we sit and take knowledge from them? Of course not! We stay away from them and we warn the people from their deviancies.

as salaamu alaikum wa rahmatullah
jazaakallaahu khair for your response yaa akh but I wanted to clear something up:

1) I just wanted to know if tabdee' was made of Dr. Jibaaly (i can't speak for brother Abu Muaadh because Hamzah Yusuf's deviation and being a deviant is as clear as the sun), and for you to read into that as being "doubts of the hizbees", then that is incorrect

2) No one ever said that the condition for him to be warned against was that he had to be labelled an innovator first; and

3) It make a big difference because if he is a mubtadi', then we don't take ANYTHING AT ALL from him.  and you seem to have implied that he is a hizbee (and the brothers from dallas said that he is on the level of abu muslimah, and a hizbee is a mubtadi')

Is Dr. Jibaaly known to be  a caller to hizbiyyah, and did he reject all of the advice given to him, or was any advice given to him before the abandonment came out?

When people fall into deviances but are not necessarily deviants, how do we deal with them?  do we restrict the warning to their area of deviance, or do we warn against them all together?  I am asking you these two questions since you took the liberty of answering mine, and I seek a comprehensive and beneficial answer from you.  Perhaps you have an answer other than what I have found on the same website which contains the reasons for abandoning Dr. Jibaaly, and this seems to apply to him, wallaahu a'lam:

"Now if both good and evil are present in a man, both sin and obedience, disobedience, Sunnah AND INNOVATION: HE HAS THE RIGHT TO ALLEGIANCE AND FRIENDSHIP IN
PROPORTION TO HIS GOODNESS, AND THE RIGHT TO ENMITY AND PUNISHMENT ACCORDING TO HIS EVIL.* So it may be that one personality possesses what warrants both honor and dishonor, he possesses some of this and some of that like the poor thief whose hand is cut off for what he has stolen but he is given what will satisfy his needs from the storage of charity." [Taken from : Hijrah from innovators and evildoers (part 2), Majmoo' al Fataawa of Shaykhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullaah)  article translated by editoral staff at www.tazkiyah.org

*words capitalized for emphasis

Also akh, please note that I do not wish to engage in back and forth posts, so after this if you have a reply for me, then you can email me, because as Imam Ahmad (rahimahullaah) said: "The Fundamental Principles of the Sunnah with us are: ......and the abandonment of quarrelling, argumentation and controversy in the religion."  was salaamu alaikum

As-Salaamu alaikum wa Rahmatullaah

ya my dear seekers of truth,

If my memory is correct than an issue similar to this was answered by our beleved brother Abu Uwais on the 2nd tape of the 2 tape set "callers to innovation in the west" produced by our noble brothers of Salafipublications.  In the tape so many questions are asked about this one and that one to the point were Abu Uwais properly dealt with the many questions at once with clarity.

if this for some reason is not enough then refer to Troids "an hour of backbiting..." tape for more proof.  If this is not enough then refer to the panal discussion of this last weeks seminar in philly which may be available from hour brothers of Dar ul Hadeeth wal Athaar.

insha Allaah, after this check out the "explanation of the Creed", specifically look into those sit with the people of innovation.

as salaamu alaikum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuhu

i posted a question some time ago asking if tabdee' has been made of muhammad al-jibaaly, and after talking to some brothers who are very dear to me, they pointed out to me (as the brother fathulmajeed posted) that it could be understood from my question that i am saying that if tabdee' wasn't made of muhammad al-jibaaly, then it is ok to take from him.  i want to make it crystal clear that in no way did i intend for it to be understood that way, and if anyone understood it that way, then it was incorrect.  my intent for asking if tabdee' was made of jibaaly because the first post of this thread (and the thread itself reads islamic material translated by the people of innovation) mentions jibaaly as being the translator of shaykh al-albaanee's book (which was wrong, but it was corrected), and it implies that jibaaly is from ahlul-bid'ah who translates material.  that is what i understood from it, and that was the intent of the question.  and as far as jibaaly's affair, then i say that we stay away from him and warn against his errors, as his matter is being reviewed by the scholars, so we wait.  i pray that this clarifies and explains, and if anyone has any misunderstandings from what i have posted here, please feel free to post.

as salaamu alikum ;

I have reveiwed the issue with abu qayim as we are known to one another for some time. Praise be to Allah ta ala that he has recieved any advice that will bring us closer to the correct minhaj. Further more in these times of fitan, we should make sure that in our questions that they are CRYSTAL  clear as this is not the time for vagness. As so many of us know and are familiar with the questioning of the man with imaan Malik about istawa, or those whom had questioned Imaan Hanbal about the Qur'an being the speach of Allah, rather it can be in a unclear question that would lead to dobt. As those question we some of the question of the people of deviation and we see now a days that so many of the people of deviation question this beloved science of JAR WA TADEEL. So as to leave out all assumption and dobt about a person we should look at our questions and reveiw them BEFORE asking, and for some of us who have taken libery to answer the questions that are posted rather we should react in accord to the question. It may be a fact that the person should get the benifit of ignorance of a issue. Neither should one be surprised that after such and so many people ( Tamimi, Zaraboza, Bilal Phillips< Abu Muslimah, Muhammad Adly ect. ) that these basic principals can be applied to them all so when it is th elike of Abu Usaaama or a Muhammad Jibaly, that in light of what was posted in majmoo Fatawa that we love him for that which he has of the sunnah and we hate him in his opposition...... Now we should fight him in the same effort that he fight the Sunnah or Qur'an, but for many of us we give to much excuses. The excuse of the ignorant layman isnt one we can easily apply to them and after so much fitnah has surronded so many personalities with in the past 6 to 7 years not many of us can say that we dont know where to apply these rules and rulings. May allah ta ala guide us through this difficult time and harm towards the muslims as this is not a time for people to be neutral.... Rather our salafee should be CRYSTAL clear and we shouldnt leave any room for dobt as if we ascribe our selves to salafeeyah then we shoudl be as they were Crystal clear .

And again I am very happy to see that my brother Abu Qayyim has made a bayan as it is from the examples from those who were better than us in their minhaj and ilm. May Allah give him and us the tafeeq .

Shaykh Ubayd al-Jaabiree hafidhahullah was asked the following two questions here.

[Q3]: What is our position towards those books (from ahlus-sunnah) which have been translated or authored by ahlul-bid'ah?
[Q4]: In regards to those books translated by the opponents of the Sunnah, we have brothers amongst us who graduated from Madeenah University and are able to check the translations, so how should we approach this?

To listen to the reply of the Shaykh (Arabic with English translation) please click the link provided above and listen from time 20:25.

Examples of horrendous mis-translations:

[2]Before reading/listening to any translation checking about the translator.

Please ponder on the following quotes from the Muqadimah of Saheeh Muslim:
Imaam Muhammad bin Sireen said: "Verily, this knowledge is Religion. So look into (i.e. investigate) whom you take your Religion from." And he said: "They (the Sahaabah) did not used to ask concerning the isnaad (chain of narration), but when the fitnah occurred, they began saying: 'Name your men for us.' So the People of the Sunnah would be looked to and so their hadeeth would be accepted. And the People of Innovation would be looked to and their hadeeth would not be accepted." Imaam Abdullah ibn al-Mubarak said, "Al-Isnad to me is from the deen if it was not for Isnad, anyone could say whatever he wants to say."

Allamah Ibn Baaz said[1], "...translation from and into the Arabic language is required when necessary, provided that the translator has a good command of both languages and is faithful in their translation."

Br. Mustafa George conveyed[2] that Shaykh Ubayd al-Jaabiree hafidhahullah said, "...no one should translate until they have a strong understanding of both languages, they should also be known for their trustworthiness and piety.  they should be known amongst the people for this and have the firm ability to translate so that the correct meanings are understood...!

Br. Moosaa Richardson said, "...the chain is from the Deen and the translator is in the chain of transmission".
