"God created man via evolution"

INTRODUCTION:

Q. Who is Usamah Hasan?
A. He is the son of Suhaib Hasan, one of the figureheads of Markaz Jam'iat Ahlel-Hadith (MJAH) UK.

Q. Does Usamah Hasan have any direct links to MJAH or any of their mosques?
A. Yes. He delivers the khutbah at Masjid at-Tawhid in Leyton, East London which is headed by Suhaib Hasan. He also leads the prayer and taraweeh (when in attendance) in Ramadhaan.

Usamah Hasan has deviated statements that oppose the fundamentals of Islaam and we have discussed them in other places on this forum.

HIS LATEST DEVIATION:

Q. Where and when did he make his statements regarding evolution?
A. Thursday, September 11, 2008 - The Guardian newspaper, UK.

Usamah Hasan said:

Quote 1:
quote:
"Just as we can see clear evidence for the fact that planets, stars and galaxies evolved very gradually over the last 13 billion years since the big bang and weren't just beamed into existence by God, it would seem intuitive that life in its breathtaking variety on Earth also arose through a gradual evolutionary processes. There are plenty of Muslim biologists who have no doubt about the essential correctness of evolutionary theory."

Quote 2:
quote:
"One problem is that many Muslims retain the simple picture that God created Adam from clay, much as a potter makes a statue, and then breathed into the lifeless statue and lo! it became a living human. This is a children's madrasa-level understanding and Muslims really have to move on as adults and intellectuals, especially given the very serious scientific heritage of the medieval Islamic civilisation.."

Quote 3:
quote:
"Another objection that is sometimes posed is the following: doesn't evolution denigrate and insult all humans, but especially the prophets of God, by insisting that we all originate from apes? I reply that the theory doesn't insult anyone, but does remind us of the humble origins of our created form. This is nothing new or blasphemous.."

Shaikh Falaah Ibn Ismaa'eel's Fatwa Regarding Prayer behind such an Individual:

The noble Shaikh Falaah bin Ismaa'eel (may Allaah preserve him) was asked concerning praying behind this person and the Shaikh responded by saying that one should not pray behind him.

May Allah guide him and us. Aameen.

Permanent Committee of Scholars:
quote:
It is a fact that the father of humanity is Adam (peace be upon him), who was created from clay.

Shaykh Ibn `Uthaymeen (rahimahulLaah) asked about the belief that the origin of mankind is from apes that changed over time into humans, whether this is correct or whether it contradicts what has come in the Qur'aan.

The Shaykh responded:
quote:
This saying is not correct, I mean the saying that the origin of mankind is (from) apes, however the one saying this is in reality an ape, disfigured in (his) intellect, and disfigured in his insight. Hence, it is befitting that we call him an ape, he is not a human, even if he is in the form of a human...

I think the brother needs to take a step backwords and not talk at all, to just keep his mouth quiet and not say anything except the obligatry, recommended and halaal things that we have to say!

This is crazy, I cant believe he said that something from the Qur'aan is "Child level thinking" or whatever he said ( I dont want to read it again because its filthy ), Subh7anAllýh this brother really needs to take a BIG BIG step back

Ibnul Qayyim Al Jawzi:
"And using the intellect in opposition to the evidences is the basis of all evil in the world."

Usamah Hasan, Darwinism, Evolutionary Forces and the Creation of Man - Part 1

Introduction:

Attempts have been made by Usamah Hasan over the years to merge the Qur'an with Darwinism. To address Usamah Hasan fully would require a lengthy treatment, which time does not allow, so the easiest thing to do is to just make commentary on the various statements he has made, with the hope that the reality of his orientation and call becomes clear through it.

In his agenda, Usamah Hasan is drawing upon the writings of the likes of the Mu'tazilah, the Ismaa'eelee Shee'ee Baatiniyyah (Ikhwaan al-Safaa) who tried to merge the Shar'iah with Greek Philosophy and who worked in almost perfect secrecy in the third and fourth centuries after hijrah to spread deviation (such as worshipping of prophets, saints and graves) amongst the Muslims. Also, the likes of Rumi the Sufi, and neo-Mu'tazili thinkers like Muhammad Iqbal. In fact, it appears that Usamah Hasan is no different in purpose to those Baatiniyyah of the fourth century hijrah who wanted to reconcile Islam with the science of the day. Today, Usamah Hasan is presenting the idea that there is compatibility between Darwinism and Islam, and that "creationism" can be merged with Darwinism. He asserts that his father, Suhaib Hasan, is defending the right of his son to arrive at "independent conclusions."

We will take from his numerous writings or interviews in the pasts two or so years in which his thought is presented. Note that there is no particular order to this, and is being done ad hoc due to time constraints. Inshaa'Allaah perhaps on a later date a more orderly and organized piece can be written. For now, we want to just pin-point where he is coming from and put it into context for further analysis. Our aim here is to expose exactly how and where Usamah Hasan is "positioning" himself in a broader context.
