I advise everyone to take a look at this beneficial thread on sahab. It is a gathering of the names of books by the ?Ulamaa? throughout history which specifically refute either deviant individuals, sects, or ideologies:
The author of the thread mentions the various benefits of such a collection:
quote:
(1) A refutation of the one who says: ?Warn from the innovation and leave the innovator.?
(2) A refutation of the one who warns against the books of refutation and renounces them and does not see any value in them.
(3) A clarification of the jihaad of the Imaams in preserving the Religion of Allaah and the Sunnah of His Messenger.
(4) A clarification of the superiority of ar-radd ?ala al-mukhaalif, and that it is a Salafee Sunnah (i.e. a way of the Salaf).
This is also a refutation of those who, lacking any insight or understanding, look to history books like Siyar A'laam an-Nubalaa? to defend their baatil rather than looking to the piles of refutations by the people of knowledge against Ahl ul-Ahwaa? throughout history.
