I gave a brother shahada a couple months ago, and AlHamdulillaah, he has a real thirst for Ilm! He asked me this question:
"In jahiliyyah he bought a car, and wants to know what his obligations are regarding the care notes. Is it obligatory for him to abandon the car note to avoid paying ribaa, or must he pay it off"? (**Keep in mind, nowdays in the u.s., you can be denied employment because of your credit rating...it happened to me before)!!!
