Salam alaikum wa rahmatullaah

I was told by one of the brothers that Majdy Wardah (مجدي  وردة) recently emailed him because he read what is posted here.  Majdy Wardah (مجدي  وردة) knows what is written here, and nothing is hidden or under the radar.  Before I discuss Majdy Wardah in more detail, I forgot to mention another brother I have spoken with from northern New Jersey who also loaned Wardah more than $6000 (that makes at least two loaning Wardah $6000 in addition to the $5000 on the other brother's credit card).

One of the other brothers spoke to an additional brother from Egypt who got into financial dealings with Wardah.  Majdy Wardah (مجدي  وردة) discussed with this brother the possibility of investing together to open a cell phone business or something similar.  The brother said he gave Majdy Wardah half of his savings (the brother would not say the exact number) as part of this venture.  As soon as the brother gave him the money, Wardah left for Egypt, and the brother knew something strange was going on.  (Warda usually collects a large amount of money before returning to Egypt to visit; on his last trip to Egypt, we know that Majdy Wardah borrowed more at least $18,000 from people.)  This brother from Egypt had to threaten to report Wardah to the police in Egypt before he got his money back.  This brother said the six months he spent with Wardah were the worst in his life.  This brother also said that after his experience with Wardah, he has become less religious so Majdy Wardah (مجدي  وردة) is having a negative effect on the iman of people and their communities.  For the sake of full disclosure and honesty, I have not spoken to the brother that was cheated directly about this.  I know him, but I only heard this story through another brother who is very trustworthy.

I have also been told by the brothers that the entire community of Masjid At-Taqwa in Atlantic City has boycotted Majdy Wardah (مجدي  وردة) because of the fitnah he caused there, and they have also started to question the dawıah.  Needless to say, their iman has been affected.

With that said, I wanted to inform the innocent Muslim communities about the way Majdy Wardah (مجدي  وردة) usually goes about attaching himself to people.  Magdy Wardah's typical approach when entering a community or soon after is to discuss gheebah (backbiting), slander (nameemah), al-wala wal-bara (loving and hating for the sake of Allaah) or a similar topic regarding talking bad about people especially the scholars (and implying himself in that group).  Al-hamdulillaah all of these are good topics in themselves and the knowledge is good.  However, the problem is that Majdy Wardah (مجدي  وردة) teaches these topics as something of a pre-emptive move to prevent people talking bad about him because Majdy Wardah's reputation with money often precedes him.  Majdy Wardah has done this in many different masajid and places.  Majdy Wardah (مجدي  وردة) usually will use the same lecture in every place he goes.  Below are a list of the common evidences he uses.  Each of the evidences is good knowledge, but the Majdy Wardahıs end goal behind teaching them is a different matter.

* The hadeeth about how one time the Messenger sallallaahu alayhi wa sallaam ordered the Muslims to fast.  Then two women sent message to the Prophet seeking permission to break the fast.  The Prophet then said they had already broken their fast and order them to vomit.  When they vomited, it contained flesh and blood because they had been backbiting while fasting.

* The verse from Surah al-Hujurat about eating the flesh of your dead brother and how some scholars say this is the most serious statement of its kind in the Qur'aan.  He does this so people do not talk about him and find the truth about his ways.

* He will twist the words of Ibn al-Qayyim that flesh of the scholars (and implies himself included) have a very deadly poison that if you backbite them and in turn eat their flesh, you may endanger yourself to the point of losing one's iman and even leaving Islaam.

* The verse in Surah al-Hujuraat about the suspicions.  Suspicions can be justified especially if so many people who barely know each come together with similar stories.  Allaah says in Surah al-Hujurat if the faasiq comes to you with news, then verify it.  Even if you consider me and the other brothers as fusaaq (plural of faasiq, major sinners), then at least try verifying what we come with by looking at the documents we can send you to prove what we are saying is true.

* The verse from Surah an-Noor regarding the slander of Aisha (radiyallaahu anha) and the battle of Bani Mustaliq (Murasiyyah). It is not slander to warn about true corruption if it is to protect people.

One of the brothers mentioned something important about this.  When someone has a very personal stake in something, they tend to take it very seriously.  Majdy Wardah (مجدي  وردة) knows that if he is mentioned to enough people, the truth about what he does will become known because enough people know the truth already.  As such, to keep up his ways and his methods, it is in Majdy Wardahıs personal interest to give the best lecture he can on the topic because he needs a lecture that scares people enough that he is able to cheat them.

Brothers and sisters this is my sincere, sincere advice.  I don't say this lightly.  It took years before I made the decision to let the truth be known online.  Majdy Wardah (مجدي  وردة) scared the other brothers and me that what we may say about him would be backbiting.  I want you all to know that Wallaahi warning about the corruption is not backbiting, and none of the true scholars would ever say it was.  If the warning is true, then warning the Muslims about corruption (monetary included) is not backbiting, slander or anything like it.  Wallaahi it is good speech for the sake of Allaah.

Majdi Wardah (مجدي  وردة) will mention that the one in debt should be treated with ease and given a chance to repay the debt. So for 15 years he was unable to pay anything from a $25,000 debt except $1000? He could sell his $4000 watch, or he could have stopped himself from buying a $1400 carpet a year ago and a new couch, and the list goes on. It is sad that he acts this way

I want to conclude this post with this hadeeth.  It is reported that the Prophet sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam said, "a person who has the ability to pay but stays away from doing so, his honor is at stake, and he deserves punishment."  [Reported in Sunan Abi Daawood (#3628).  Shaykh al-Albaanee says the isnaad is hasan.]  You be the judge for yourself.  If someone has as much debt as Majdy Wardah (مجدي  وردة) and doesn't pay back but buys himself expensive luxuries does he fall under this hadeeth?  The truth is clear and Allaah knows best.  If you have doubts, ask Majdy Wardah what the most expensive watch he ever bought cost?  You should use those words so he does not twist your words to mean a current watch or anything else.  Majdy Wardah (مجدي  وردة) can be very delicate and sneaky with his words so consider his answer thoroughly.

Allaah blessed him with much knowledge and all the doors to the masajid and the houses of the brothers have closed on him.  The door of repentance is still open, but he seems to not want to enter.  Allaahul must'aan.

Salam alaikum

The brothers did more research into the credentials of Majdy Wardah (مجدي  وردة) and have found out that World Muslim Congress (the organization he is affiliated with) has expelled him.  They also did research and found out that the university where he claims he got his Ph.D. has no record of him graduating and actually getting his degree.  If he was willing to fabricate this information, what else would he potentially make up?  You can search for copies of the documents and google "Stop Majdy Wardah" and will find them.  I did.
