Salaf.Com - Why Are Some Links Included And Others Not?

This small note is just to make clear to some individuals who have shown concern as to why certain sites that have attachment to Salafiyyah have not been included on the links on 'Salaf.com'

Then below are some important points that need to be borne in mind:

1. We include those sites as links that have a long proven track record of their firmness upon Da'watus-Salafiyyah and have not been known except to be submissive to the truth.

2. They are firm and vocal when it comes to issues of the Manhaj such as takfeer, Qutbiyyah etc. and defence of the Scholars and are quick to convey the clarifications and statements of the scholars on issues as they arise.

3. That they have in their midsts students of knowledge and du'aat who are with them at ground-level helping and guiding them on a day-to-day basis who in turn are in contact with the true du'aat who are the 'ulemah.

4. That they have close attachments to the 'ulemah and have always been like that in the times fitnah - such as the tribulations of Safar, Salmaan, Ihyaa Turaath, Ar'oor, Ma'rabi - unwavering in their adherence to the fundamentals of this Religion. And if they had erred in any way, we found them just as vocal in their clarity and return to the truth.

5. That the website itself has something to offer that is unique and distinct. We will not include for example a website that is just a replica of 'SalafiPublications.com' or the 'Troid Audio Lounge' or 'SalafiAudio.com' or a duplicate of 'Fatwa-online.com' - or those websites that have been set up offering no new perspectives or angles of the da'wah.

6. We have not included links to those websites that have been set up in the same locations as established Islamic Centers and Masaajid who have their own sites. So for example, we will NOT link to a new site in Toronto who have no connection to 'Troid.org', and likewise in Philidelphia who have no connection to 'TheRighteousPath.com', so in this case we would ask that the 'new-comers' work in co-ordination with the established Salafi da'wah centres, mosques and websites in their areas and think of ways and means of expanding the da'wah efforts without duplicating, but rather upon cooperation and consultation and consolidating.

7. We will definitely not link to any site that has been set up to create hatred and animosity between the Salafis, even if they claim Salafiyyah for themselves and claim attachment to the Scholars.

8. Exclusion of a site from our links, that fulfills the above criteria and likewise which avoids some of the pitfalls mentioned does not mean that we have any hatred for them or that we look down upon them or that there is a question-mark over them. So we encourage brothers and sisters not to entertain the whisperings of Shaytaan in that regard and to spread baseless rumours. Just to give an example; The site 'Al-Athariyyah.Com' is a site established for the da'wah in London, UK. The site is no doubt Salafi, upon the clear da'wah and the brothers/sisters in London involved in the site are known for their clarity in the 'aqeedah and manhaj, yet we have not yet linked them to 'Salaf.com'.

I hope this clarifies many aspects of the new site and some of the thinking that has gone into it. The aim was to bring cooperation between the established Salafee websites, that each have something unique to offer, so as to make information more accessible to the Salafees in the West.

May Allaah reward all those involved.

Wassallaam alaykum wa rahmatullaah
