May Allaah reward all those who spent efforts in listening, obtaining, recording, translating and spreading these words. And may Allaah continue to separate Ahl ul-Haqq from Ahl ul-Baatil by way of statements such as these. Aameen.

QUESTION

Some people say that "Shaykh Rabee' ibn Haadee Al-Madkhalee and Shaykh Faalih Al-Harabee do not speak with fairness and they do not advise those they criticize and expose their mistakes, rather they are only making trouble." What is your opinion of this statement and what do you know about the these two scholars and their methodology of criticism and advising?

ANSWER by Shaykh Muhammad 'Umar Baazmool, instructor at Umm Al-Quraa University in Makkah

http://www.bakkah.net/audio/Aamb003.ra   (arabic audio)

Shaykh Rabee' ibn Haadee Al-Madkhalee and Shaykh Faalih Al-Harabee are from the major scholars, those who are highly specialized in this field (Al-Jarh wat-Ta'deel).

They are the ones who are referred to about people like me, and I am not someone to be asked about them! They are from the major imaams of this day and time, and their statements of criticism are the statements of people of knowledge and specialization, the people of technical knowledge and keen insight. They take vigilant care of the affairs of this Deen, and they convey their sincere advice properly to benefit the Deen and all the people.

As for what some people see as being problems that result from this advice, then this is a very natural thing in my opinion. The clash between Truth and falsehood will always entail these things. It is for a specific reason that Allaah named His Book Al-Furqaan (that which causes separation). The great battle that divides the people has been named Al-Furqaan. 'Umar was given the nickname Al-Faarooq. The Messenger (sallallaahu 'alayhe wa sallam) was described as a man that caused division between a man and his wife, between a man and his children, etc.

This is also the case with the people who call to the Truth, since the call to the Truth brings about the ruin of falsehood. It brings about a struggle between Truth and falsehood, it causes a kind of division. It does not cause the Truth to be divided or good things to be seperated from other good things, rather it splits good from evil and the Truth from falsehood.

So the students of knowledge, as well as the common Muslims, must return to the essentials of the Religion. This requires that we follow the people of knowledge, stick closely to them, take from them what they have, and follow the Truth and clear evidences that reach us by way of them. I ask Allaah that He grants us all correct actions and security.
