I was wondering if anyone could help me. Is it permissable for a husband to be away from his wife for more than 3 months. From what i am aware of it isnt allowed because his wife has her rights over him. But what if the husband is going away to study the deen and is intending on bettering himself and his family. He wants to go away to study the arabic language and also to make hijrah and in order to do that he needs to set things up in the country that he wishes to make hijrah to. He plans to go away for 1 year, his wife is ok with him going and is encouraging him to go however she was told that if a husband seperates from his wife for more that 3 months he has divorced her. No proof was given however the sister is concerned that when her husband comes back after being away for a year that they will nolonger be married. This is her main concern. Could someone advise the sister please and also bring proof

What advice can be offered to the Muslim men who seek knowledge at Islaamic centers, get involved in various affairs of da'wah, and then socialize with the brothers (at the masjid and elsewhere), while neglecting their families' rights in the process? Their families suffer due to their absence and neglect. Aren't they able to study and also work to provide for their families?
