How can I maintain my memorization of the Qurýan? (from www.alifta.com)
quote:
... to show truthfulness, sincerity, and a real desire to memorize, understand, and contemplate it, and make Du'a' ... avoid committing sins and should make Tawbah (repentance to Allah)....

نسم الله الحرمن الرحيم

جزاك الله خيرا. Maa shaa'Allah, this advice of the Shaykh does work a great deal.

Alhamdulillaah, the University here set up Hifdh programs in the Masaajid on the Campus similar to what the Shaykh mentioned. In the beginning, participants commit to memorize and/or review (muraaja'ah) a number of pages/verses per day.

Then everyday, they meet in a halaqah after Fajr where they memorize but before they leave, they recite what they memorized that day (as well as the previous day's memorization) to one of the coordinators. As for the verses they review - they can recite that to any of the fellow participants or coordinators.

The progress of each student is recorded and those who do best (most memorization, best in keeping up with his commitment) are rewarded with prizes which act as a sort of encouragement for them and others as well.

Maa shaa'Allah, by this one brother was able to memorize in one week what he couldn't memorize in one year! Alhamdulillaah.

Perhaps, the masaajid may have similar programs to help brothers with their hifdh.

Allahu 'alam.

Question:  What is the best way of memorizing Qur?aan?

Answer:  ?Just try hard and set an objective each day.  The best time to memorize Qur?aan is after the Fajr salaat.?
