As-salam-u-alaykum, I would like some information regarding a hadith found in Riyadh-us-Saaliheen(No. 509) and reported by both bukhari and Muslim. The wording starts as `khairu kum qarnee ...'. However, it seems there are different wordings which are `khairun naasi qarnee' and `khairu qurun qarnee'. Can anyone give some details on these other variants and their status in terms of authenticity and what the scholars of hadith have mentioned regarding them if they are weak. Jazak Allahu Khair.
