Yaa ikhwaan, what works on the character and manners of the people of zuhd are available? I am aware that noble individuals such as Fud'ail ibn Iyaad, al-Junayd, and Imaam Ahmad have been called people of zuhd (ascetism) due to their intensive ibaadah. What books, preferably in arabic, exist to guide people to the character of these prominent individuals? Are there similar works to those of Ibn Qayyim which are meant to soften the hearts and help the people in overpowering their base desires?
