Bismillah Ir Rahman Ir Rahim As Salaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullah
There was a question as from a sister in a polygyny group I belong to regarding so called "sound" matrimonial sites for her to go to in search for a husband. Another sister responded to her with several sites but heeded her to at least have a wakil. My questions are as follows.
1.Is it pemissible for Salafi Women and Men alike to go to these sites and search for potential mates since it promotes free mixing and no mahram is present in the search.
2.Should wakils use this type of venue to search for a potential husband for the sister. Or should a brother use it for a sister since there in no absolute way of proving this is correct contact information?
3. Is this even a halal way to search for a mate according to the Qur'an and Sunnah?
