I want to find out if it is permissable for someone to have a relative overseas slaughter for his aqeeqah and feed the poor muslims in that area with the meat.

Assalamu Alaykum Wa Rahmatullah

Akhee, I was at the lesson, after Maghrib salaaat of Shaikh Wasiullah( Hafidhullah) in Mecca on Friday 25th May. The same question was posed to him. he replied,

" it is not allowed to slaughter the meat in another country it has to be done in the country where the child was born"
