Could someone also give me the answer to this question. What is the proper way to correct yourself if you made a mistake or slip of the tongue during recitation?  For example in al faatiha which is a pillar of prayer?  Do you repeat the word/s you made a mistake on, or the ayah, Or start from the beginning for the faatiha and thus your prayer to be complete?

BarakAllahu feek akh shahid, a very good article by Shaikh Alee Hasan al-Halabi. May Allah reward you greatly with khair, ameen.

It has answered the question on praying eid in the masjid. It says that it is permissible for those who are unable to go to the musallaa to pray in the masjid. But the sunnah is to go out to the musallaa for both eids and the aim of the musalla is to gather the great majority of the muslims in one place.

JazakAllahu khair to both you brothers.

wa salaamu alaikum

p.s. if some one finds an answer the number of people required to establish the eid or jumu'ah prayers please do post it here.

Akhi abusalaman jazakAllahu khair for posting the answers.

I just want to request those who know, if they could spare some time and post the answer for the last question, would be highly appreciated. The question is

What is the minimum number of people required to establish the jumu'ah salaah?

& also with regards to the Eid salaah? I have heard that it is an innovation to pray in a building/masajid? am i correct?

can some one please clarify this to me.

JazakAllahu khair

1. What should one do if he realises that he has prayed in the opposite direction to qibla? Is his/her prayer valid, as they have done this unknowingly?
Facing the qiblah is from the shuroot of the salat. However if a person prays to a direction thinking that it is correct then it becomes clear to him that he was wrong, his salat is correct. From Aamir ibn Rabee'a that he said : We was with the prophet صلى الله علسه و سلم on a journey in a very dark night. We didn't know which way the qiblah was so each of us prayed to where he thought the qiblah was. When we reached the morning we mentioned this to the prophet صلى الله علسه و سلم and the aayah was revealed فأين ما تولوا فثم وجه الله So wherever you turn there is the face of Allaah. Hasan reported by Tirmadhi and Ibn Maaja.

2. If the imaam realises whilst leading the prayer that he does not have wudhu, and he is quite certain that the people he is leading do not know what to do if he leaves the prayer. In such an instance what should he do?

The sunnah is that if the imaam breaks his wudu and he is in the 1st rak'a then he can leave the salat and the people remain in their places and he makes wudu and returns to the prayer. Or he can appoint someone behind him to carry it on. That is why those with the most knowledge  and Qur'aan should be standing behind the Imaam as the prophet ordered saying :  Let those who have knowledge be behind me (in the salat). hadeeth of abu Masood al Ansaari reported by Muslim.

3. What is the minimum number of people required to establish the jumu'ah salaah? I will try and get back to you on this question as i am looking through a few books but can't find a conclusion. Unless someone posts it before me will be good!
