i am asking this for a sister who is not a member:
the sister is salafee, but her husband is khalafee. she had sought a divorce, but the imaam, who is also khalafee, would not grant it to her. what should she do?

Salaamu aleyka wa rahma
i have some questions concerning this matter:
1) does being khalafee nullify your Islaam?
2) are there children involved in the marriage?
3) does the husband prevent this sister from practising her religion?
4) is he witholding her rights from her?
5) does he commit shirk by worshipping someone or something else besides Allaah, or other deeds of disbelief?
6) is it right to ask such a question without hearing both sides equally?
these are just some questions without any prejudice wa Allaahu alim

as-salaamu 'alaykum wa rahmatullaah,
i was just looking for a general advice on such an issue, since sadly i hear that it is a frequent one, hoping to get just a little direction as to what course she should take or what options she has. that's why there were no details of the situation. if you or anyone else knows of someone who would be able to assist, it would be appreciated. and inshaa-allaah, i will pass those questions along to the sister.
