As Salaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah! Narrated 'Aisha: The Prophet Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam said, "Five kinds of animals are mischief-doers and can be killed even in the Sanctuary: They are the rat, the scorpion, the kite, the crow and the rabid dog." Knowing this and knowing that gerbils and hamsters are in the rat family (rodents) would they also be permissible to kill? If not, would they (hamsters and gerbils) be permissible to keep as pets? Jazak Allahu Khyran wa Barak Allahu Feek!
