He is Shaykh 'Alee bin 'Abdur Rahmaan bin 'Alee bin Ahmed al-Hudhayfee hafidhahullah. He was born in 1366 AH in a place towards North of Makkah. Some of his teachers were Shaykh Muhammad bin Ibrahim al-Hudhayfee, Shaykh Abdul Fattah al-Qadhi and Shaykh Ahmed Abdul Aziz al-Zayaat. He has an ijaazah in hadeeth from Shaykh Hammad al-Ansaree. He got a Bachelor's degree from Imaam University in Riyadh in faculty of Shariah and has Masters and PhD from al-Azhar University. He was first appointed as Imam and Khateeb in Masjid Quba and then appointed the Imam & Khateeb at Masjid Nabawi in 1399. In 1401 he was appointed Imam and Khateeb at Masjid Haram but again transferred to Madeenah in 1402. Now he is one of the senior Imams and Khateeb in Masjid Nabawi and a Professor at the Islamic University of Madeenah. In addition the Shaykh is the Chairman of Scholarly Council for Verificaton and Revision of Madinah's Mushaf and a member of Higher Commission of King Fahad's Complex for Printing of Mushaf.
