Does anyone know the authenticity of the hadeeth about the month of Ramadaan being devided into 3 parts, and each part has its pariticular blessing/reward attached to it.
As-salam-u-alaykum, In the book `Fasting in Ramadan' by shaykh Saleem al-Hilaalee and shaykh Alee Abdul-Hameed, there is on page 107 what you may be referring to. It's a long hadith with part of it saying that the beginning is a mercy, the middle is forgiveness and the end is granting freedom from the fire. They say that the isnaad is da'eef due to the weakness of `Alee ibn Zayd. They also say that Ibn Abee Haatim reports from his father that he said:`The hadeeth is munkar'. Sorry, I don't have much time, else I would have copied the whole section for you. Refer to the book for more details. Was-salam Ya'qub
