Markaz Mu'aadh bin Jabal in Slough currently has a vacancy for a full- or part-time Imaam. For those who are not familiar with Markaz Mu'aadh bin Jabal and it's activities a brief summary has been provided below.
Markaz Mużaadh bin Jabal was set up in October 2001 in Slough and given it's name by our noble Shaykh, Shaykh Ubayd al-Jaabiree (hafidhullaah). The primary goal of the markaz was (and still is) to call people to the religion of tawheed, upon the understanding of the Companions of Allah's Messenger (salAllaahu 'alaiyhi wasallam), educating the local community as well as building wider community relations.
We started off as a bookstore and then moved to Montrose Avenue where we remained for approximately 5 years, most recently we have moved to our new location on Spackmans Way by the grace of Allaah and then by the help (by way of du'a, financial and labour) of the Muslims and may Allaah reward all those who helped with much good and bless them and their families in this life and the next, ameen.
Current activities at the Markaz include:
- 5 daily prayers including Jummużah (for Sisters too).
- Establishment of 'Eed prayers at a Musalla (local park).
- Lectures with the scholars and du'aat (including Conferences).
- Reference Library with over 300 books on żaqeedah, fiqh, hadeeth, etc in Arabic, English and Urdu.
- Islamic bookshop.
- Islamic advice centre for Muslims and non-Muslims.
- Islamic school for Boys and Girls teaching Qurżan/Tajweed and Islamic Studies.
- Islamic website (www.markazmuaadh.com), other websites to follow insha'Allaah.
- Helping other charitable initiatives such as the Orphanages in Pakistan and Gambia.
- Collection and distribution of Zakaat.
- Hajj & Umrah.
- Publishing Islamic literature.
Future aspirations bi'ithnillaahi ta'aala include:
- Setting up a nursery and primary school in the next 12-18 months insha'Allaah.
- Providing funeral services for the Muslim community according to the Prophetic Sunnah.
- An established Hajj and Umrah service.
- Establish a committee to aid the poor and sick, currently collecting clothes for the poor in Madinah.
As you can see by the mercy and blessings of Allaah the Markaz is trying to aid the da'wah in whichever small way it can and we only seek the Face of Allaah by this.
