Shaikh Al-Albaani: Boycotting them is Wajib.

Questioner: Regarding boycotting the innovators, oh Shaikhı

Shaikh Al-Albaani: Proceed.

Questioner: It appears from what I've heard, is that you take into consideration the welfare of that innovator.

Shaikh Al-Albaani: Yes

Questioner: And you don't condemn the origin of boycotting?

Shaikh Al-Albaani: No, I don't condemn the origin; it's wajib, boycotting is...

Questioner: Shaikh, as previously mentioned, (say) we took into account his welfare and said that it wasn't permissible to boycott the innovator; we held in regard the welfare of the innovator and such; with that method, mixing with this innovator, people would become affected. They would think that this innovator is not upon innovation. And (this way) we wouldn't be considering the welfare of the general people, whom may be mislead by the ties of this Salafi scholar (to the innovator), or they would mislead people as a result.
Another issue isı

Shaikh Al-Albaani: Save the second issue until we have looked at the first issue.
These issues, my brother -from the standpoint of correct application- needs precisely applied knowledge. Have you perceived this scholar to be compromising (religiously to accommodate the innovator)?

Questioner: No.

Shaikh Al-Albaani: Okay; if you perceived differently, then you would have
perceived him (the Salafi scholar) condemning his innovation, or giving him advice, or reminding him. If that were the case, then where would the danger be on the general people? They hear the scholar giving (the innovator) advice, and reminding him, etc.

Questioner: Yes.

Shaikh Al-Albaani: Therefore, the danger that you are referring to applies to those whom compromise to accommodate the innovators, and not those whom condemn with that which is better [i.e. with the correct mannerism].

Questioner: May Allah reward you.

Shaikh Al-Albaani: In other words: whosoever associates with them and is silent about their innovation and deviance, and (claims) that this is being patient and forgiving, we condemn that; indeed clarification must be made!
I believe we're out of time.

It is obligated to abandon Bid'ah

Shaykh 'Abdul 'Azeez ibn Baaz (rahimahullaah) said:

Every Bid'ah and every misguidance and every manhaj that opposes the Shar'ia of Allaah then it is waajib to abandon them. It is waajib to call all the all of the people to be upon the manhaj on which the Messenger (sallalaahu 'alaihi wasallam) was upon during his lifetime, and after that on which his companions and the Rightly Guided Caliphs after him and those who followed them, the Imaams of guidance, and the righteous Salaf were upon. The manhaj al qaweem on which those who followed them were upon, the Siraat al-Mustaqeem.

This is the manhaj that it is waajib to hold on to and cling on to, and traverse upon. And every one of those who opposes this of which the people has innovated then it is waajib to abandon and reject them, clarifying them with a clear clarification up until no ones is destroyed except with evidence.

Imaam al Albaanee on the Innovators from the lecture;

Subduing the Ash'aree Assault Against the Salafee 'Aqeedah by Our brother, Abul-Hasan Maalik .

Our brother, Abul-Hasan Maalik has replied to the arguments that have re-emerged during the recent Ash'aree uprising in Philadelphia and their subsequent attacks upon the Salafee 'aqeedah. Since some of the local ignoramuses have regurgitated the arguments of their Imaams in misguidance Muhammad Zaahid al-Kawtharee, Muhammad 'Alawee al-Maalikee, Nuh Ha Mim Keller and others. The speaker goes onto compile an abundance of evidences from the noble Qur`aan and the authentic Sunnah proving beyond a shadow of a doubt how the Attributes of Allaah were understood by the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) and his Companions. He lends further support to this evidence through the statements of the early Imaams from the Salaf as well as the later Scholars of Ahlus-Sunnah.

When asked about his aqeedah, one of the points that Shaykhul Islam Muhammad ibn Abdul Wahhab quoted in his letter to the people of Qaseem was,
quote:
I view boycotting the people of innovation and disassociating from them until they repent.
In his explanation for this point in the creed of Imaam Ibn Abdul Wahhab, Allaamah Dr. Saalih al-Fawzaan first defined bid'ah and gave proofs from Qur'an & Sunnah for it's prohibition. Then he said,

"It is not sufficient that we just refrain from innovation, but rather we boycott the innovators. We do not sit with them nor do we befriend them until they leave off their innovation. If we were to befriend them and sit with them then we would have indeed encouraged them in innovation. So we are to boycott them, meaning we leave sitting with them and befriending them until they repent to Allaah.

This is an obligation of Ahlus Sunnah! They boycott the people of innovation and if it were to have occurred then indeed innovation would not have spread. However, once a more relaxed approach began with the innovators, they begin to devastate the land with corruption and spread innovation and there was no one to fend them off. They became our friends and part of our gatherings and sittings, and subsequently innovations begin to spread in this manner. However, if Ahlul Bida' were boycotted (as they were supposed to be) then their evil would indeed be minute. So the statement of the Shaykh (ibn Abdul Wahhab), "I view boycotting the people of innovation and disassociation from them;" Boycotting: to leave or abandon, meaning we leave them and abstain from sitting with them and befriending them "until they repent." If they repent then Allaah will accept their repentance and they then become part of our gatherings and our beloved companions.

Boycotting the people of innovation - Ibn Uthaymeen

Imam Albaani rahimahullah on sitting with the people of inovation

The great scholar and Muhaddith the Haafidh Muhammad Naasir Ud Deen Al Albani  said:

"I do not advise any brother from those amongst us to meet with such people except if he is full of correct knowledge from the Qur'an and Sunnah. This is because they are people of desires and doubts. Therefore, if it is that the one who desires to debate with them and put the evidences upon them does not have knowledge and intellect together it is feared that he himself and his belief would be tampered with something from their desires. For this reason the Salaf spoke plentifully about prohibiting the Muslims from sitting with the people of desires."
