is found in the Sunan of At-Tirmithee (#2188) and elsewhere in a hadeeth reported by Ibn Mas'ood. It is "hasan saheeh" according to Al-Albaanee. So perhaps it was taken from a book giving sharh to at-Tirmithee and mistakenly referenced to At-Tirmithee, wallaahu a'lam.
this is what is found in the footnotes of the article, every innovation is misguidance in reference to the hadeeth in question:
quote:
(Related by ad-Daarimee in his Sunan (1/79), at-Tabaraanee in al-Kabeer (9/126) and Abu Nu'aym in Hilyatul-Awliyaa (4/381). It was authenticated by al-Haythamee in Majma'uz-Zawaa'id (1/181).)
