Can someone clarify this issue whether one should read Fatiha behind the Imam in the Fajr, Maghrib and Isha prayers. Because I have read Sheikh Albanis book where he says you shouldnt using the ayay remain silent when the quran is recited. Secondly in tafseer baghawi it is said about this ayah that you must recite behind the imam.
Another issue I wanted to be addressed is that a condition of prayer is khushoo how can one have khushoo when he is praying fatiha behind the imam. Can anyone direct me to any threads or explanations about this issue jazakallah.

The Obligation of Reciting Al Faatihah, by Shaikh Muqbil

Excerpt:

Shaikh Muqbil (rahimahullaah) said:

quote:
As far as reciting Al-Faatihah, then verily it has been reported by Bukhaaree and Muslim in their two Saheehs on the authority on 'Ubaadah Bin Saamit (radi Allahu 'anhu) on the Prophet (sallAllaahu alaihi wasallam) the he (sallAllaahu alaihi wasallam) said: There is no prayer for the one who does not recite the opening of the Book (i.e. Al Faatihah).

In another hadeeth, on the Prophet (sallAllaahu alaihi wasallam) that he (sallAllaahu alaihi wasallam) said: Perhaps you all recite behind your Imaam? They replied, "Yes O Messenger of Allah." He (sallAllaahu alaihi wasallam) said:

Do not do so except with the opening of the book (i.e. Al Faatihah).

This is what is correct, that it is obligatory upon him (the one
praying behind the Imaam) to recite the opening of the book.

Subhanak Allaahuma wa bihamdika ash-hadu anlaa illaaha illa anta astaghfiruka wa atubu ilayk

If I said anything correct, then it is from Allaah (subhanahu wa taa'ala), and if I erred, then that is from me and shaytan.
