Bismillaaha aslaamu alaykum I was in salafi masjid in Birmingham on friday, and the khadiib or the imam was talking english only no arabic during the khudba, I would like to know why there wasn't any arabic spoken and what are the evidence that english or any other language can be used prior to arabic.

Wa-alaykum salaam, akhee, to the best of my recollection, our brother Abu Hakeem's khutbah was filled with ayaats of the Qur'aan so how can you say that `there wasn't any arabic spoken`? Was-salaam Abu Hamza Ya'qub Gungadoo

Bismillaaha akhi when I said no arabic were spoken I meant delivery the khudbah with full arabic, but Alhamdulilaaha the kudbah was excellent and may Allaah reward the brother, and it was full of ayaat and ahaadith is well I live full from birmingham but if I could I would've come everyday.

Bismillaaha Its better to ask the person or persons but, at that moment I was going to ask him in person but the brother was gone before me. I ask some other brother who live in the city but they didn't know why. But alhadulilaaha, the brother above sahid 393 answered my query may Allaah reward him,
