He is Shaikh ŭAbdul-ŭAzeez bin ŭAbdillaah bin ŭAbdir-Rahmaan Ar-Raajihee

He was born in the city of Al-Bukairiyah, which is located in the district of Qaseem (Saudi Arabia), in the year 1360H. The Shaikh grew up in the city of Al-Bukairiyah and studied under its scholars. There, he memorized the Qurŭaan and studied the introductory levels.

The Shaikh was raised amidst a pious family. Later on, he traveled to the city of Riyadh and enrolled in the Imaam Muhammad bin Suŭood Islamic University, joining the College of Shareeŭah in it. He graduated from there and then joined the College of Usool-ud-Deen under the Creed and Modern-Day Beliefs branch for the purpose of teaching there. The Shaikh continues to serve as an associate professor of this branch.

The Shaikh served as a student under a number of teachers in Bukairiyah and a number of senior scholars in Riyadh. Amongst his teachers are:

1. Shaikh ŭAbdul-ŭAzeez bin Baaz ŭ He accompanied him (as a devoted student) from the time he came to Riyadh from Madeenah up until his death, may Allaah have mercy on him. He benefited immensely from him in his manner and way of dealing with the texts, and his explanation of the books of the scholars.

2. Shaikh ŭAbdullaah bin Humaid, the head of the Higher Judicial Council, may Allaah have mercy on him.

The Shaikh has an active participation in the field of knowledge and education. This is by way of his authoring books and his supervision of the academic treatises that are submitted in order to gain the Masters and Doctors degree in the Creed and Modern-Day Beliefs branch. Amongst these, was his supervision over the verification of the book of Shaikh-ul-Islaam Ibn Taimiyyah known as ŭBayaan Talbees al-Jahmiyyah.ŭ This book will be released soon, Allaah willing. This also includes his supervision of the verification of the didactic poem of Ibn Al-Qayyim called ŭAl-Kaafiyah As-Shaafiyah..ŭ

The Shaikh, may Allaah preserve him, holds various lessons in seven different times throughout the week, which are as follows:

1. Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays after the Fajr Prayer in the Al-Ameer Sultaan Mosque in Rabwah.

2. Sundays and Mondays after the Maghrib Prayer in the new Raajihee Masjid.

This is in addition to his lesson broadcasted over the radio, which is recorded from his office in Rabwah every Friday.

He also participates in educational seminars in the city of Riyadh, as well as outside from it during the summer. This is also in addition to the lessons he holds in Al-Masjid Al-Haraam.

Several knowledge-based books and texts of treatises have been read and continue to be read in his presence (i.e. for the purpose of memorization, precision in wording and studying). Amongst these books are:

On Hadeeth:
Saheeh Al-Bukhaaree, Saheeh Muslim, Sunan Abu Dawood, Sunan At-Tirmidhee,Sunan An-Nasaaŭee, Sunan Ibn Maajah, the Muwattaŭ of Imaam Maalik, Saheeh Ibn Khuzaimah, Buloogh-ul-Maraam, and Riyadh-us-Saaliheen

On Creed:
Kitaab at-Tawheed and the rest of the treatises of Muhammad bin ŭAbdil-Wahhaab; The treatises of the Imaams of the Daŭwah, may Allaah have mercy on them; Kitaab at-Tawheed of Ad-Daarimee and the one from Imaam Ahmad; The treatises al-Hamawiyyah, at-Tadmuriyyah, al-ŭAqeedah al-Waasitiyyah and the Fataawaa of Shaikh-ul-Islaam Ibn Taimiyyah; Al-ŭAqeedah as-Safareeniyah; Al-ŭAqeedah at-Tahaawiyyah, and Lumŭat-ul-ŭItiqaad

Tafseer Ibn Katheer

On Fiqh:
ŭUmdat-ul-Fiqh; Al-Waraqaat

On Language:
The text of Ar-Rahbiyyah; Al-Ajroomiyyah

On Hadeeth:
Nukhbat-ul-Fikr

This is in addition to the other knowledge-based books he goes over, may Allaah preserve the Shaikh.

Additional Notes:
One only need refer to Shaikh Rabee bin Haadee Al-Madkhaleeŭs introduction to his monumental book: ŭThe Methodology of Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jamaaŭah on Criticizing Individuals, Books and groups [Published by Al-Ibaanah Book Publishing, 2005] to see the high position and status the Shaikh held with the scholars, such that when Shaikh Rabeeŭ presented his book for Imaam ŭAbdul-ŭAzeez bin Baazŭs review, the latter passed it on to his student, Shaikh ŭAbdul-ŭAzeez Ar-Raajihee to review and study it on his behalf and give him his opinion on it.

After the Shaikhŭs review of the book, Imaam Ibn Baaz replied to Shaikh Rabeeŭs request, stating: ŭI am attaching here for you the letter I received in response from Shaikh ŭAbdul-ŭAzeez bin ŭAbdillaah Ar-Raajihee concerning your book ŭThe Methodology of Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jamaaŭah on Criticizing Individuals, Books and Groupsŭ since I had forwarded it to him due to my inability to review it. So he responded with what he saw concerning the book and his response pleased me, all praise be to Allaah. And I am pleased with the research you did in it.ŭ

Such an example shows the following:

1. Shaikh Ar-Raajiheeŭs close connection to the senior scholars
2. Imaam Ibn Baazŭs trust and reliance in him
3. Shaikh Ar-Raajiheeŭs uprightness in Creed and Methodology, such that he was pleased and approved of the contents of the book presented to him
4. His love for knowledge and eagerness to review texts and treatises.

For more of an insight into the Shaikhŭs works and efforts, please visit his web site at www.shrajhi.com There you will be able to find some of his transcribed lectures and lessons. One of his lessons on the explanation of Imaam Muhammad bin ŭAbdil-Wahhaabŭs treatise ŭThe Nullifiers of Islaamŭ was translated and can be found here http://www.al-ibaanah.com/ebooks.php?EID=33.

At the time of this translation, the Shaikh has reached the age of 65, may Allaah preserve him.
