As salaamu alaikum,

My understanding from the scholars of Ahlus-Sunnah is that we can generally affirm Jannah for Muslims and we can generally affirm an-Naar for kuffaar.  But, we don't specifically affirm Paradise or the Fire for anyone, be they Muslim or kaafir, except those whom the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) has affirmed is either in Paradise or the Fire.

I am now trying to correctly understand the hadeeth in which the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) says:

quote:

Wherever you pass by a disbeliever's grave, give him the tidings of the Fire (at-Tabaraani and others.  Verified authentic by al-Albani)

It seems to me that the statement "biqabrin kaafirin" (I would put the Arabic but I don't know how to) is referring to a singular disbeliever's grave.  Is this not a specific affirmation of someone being in the fire?
