Imaam ash-Shawakaanee (d.1255H) said,
And this aayah contains a severe reprimand for those who allow people to sit with the innovators, those who twist the Words of Allaah, play around with His Book, and the Sunnah of His Messenger (sallallaahu ýalayhi wa sallam). And refer them back to their own misleading desires and wicked innovations. Since, if he is unable to reprimand them and change them from what they are upon, then at the very least, he should avoid sitting with them ý and that is easy for him, not difficult. | quote: |

As-Salamu Alaikum!
I dont sit with the people of innovation in their gatherings when they call to bidah.
For instance in the tableghe gatherings, or the extreme sufi sect of berelewi, or the Takfiris or ihkhanul muslimeen.
however, Is it permissible to stay with them in other occasions. Is it permissible to go fishing with them for instance? or play soccer with them? etc etc
I live in a place where there is no Salafi community (Not that I know off)
