Question [34] There are some who make a distinction between At-Taa'ifatul Mansoorah and Al-Firqatun Naajiyyah, so is this distinction correct? And if that is the case who are the Firqatun Naajiyyah and who are the Taa'ifatul Mansoorah?
Answer [34] These are the ones who wish to differenciate between everything. They wish to divide the Muslims, they want to make the difference even with the attributes of the muslims. And this statement is incorrect. So the Taa'ifatul Mansoorah, they are the Firqatun Naajiyyah Walhamdulillaah! They cannot be considered Aided [Mansoorah] except when they are Successful [Naajiyyah] and they cannot be Successful [Naajiyyah] except that they are Aided [Mansoorah]. So both of these descriptions necessitate one thing. And this distinguishment whether it is from an ignorant [Jaahil] person or whether it is from a biased person [Mughradh] they only desire to cause doubts in the youth of the Muslims concerning At-Taa'ifatul Mansoorah An-Naajiyyah [The Aided Successful Group].
The above fatwa is of Shaykh Fawzaan. It's from the famous book Questions and Answers on Manhaj that has been translated into English and is available on most Salafi bookstores.
