THE DANGER OF SHOWOFF AND CONCEITEDNESS UPON THE CALLER TO ALLAH

He (the caller to Allah) is not unconscious of (the fact) that indeed, showoff, insincerity, conceitedness, and fame seeking are lowly/vile aims that calls for evil convictions, sickness of the heart, and deprivation of eemaan in Allah, (in Whose Hand is (control) over death and life, and reward and punishment), and unto Him is the RETURN and the RECOMPENSE.  So that He (عزوجل) gives reward in accordance to the deeds, (the good and the bad, the hidden and the apparent) as He (عزوجل) said:

?? And We Shall set up balances of justice on the Day of Resurrection, then none will be dealt with unjustly in anything.  And if there be the weight of a mustard seed, we will bring it.  And sufficient are We to take account?? 21:47

And as He (سبحانه) said:

??So whoever hopes for the Meeting with his Lord, let him work righteousness and associate none as a partner in the worship of his Lord?? 18:110

Sheikh Zaid Ibn Haadee al Madkhalee (may Allah preserve him)

We seek Allah?s Protection from hearts inclined towards showoff, insincerity, conceitedness and fame seeking.  Likewise, we seek Allah?s protection from the evil of all those who speak falsehood in order to defend innovators.  And Allah will be THE JUDGE between the ulema and those who belittle and accuse them of insincerity etc.
