Does anyone know who this person is and what he is upon? Dr. M Amir Ali founder of III&E (Institute of Islamic Infformation and Education) in North Amarica. They are based in Chicago. also "Bashir Mundi"?
Since Chicago was brought up in this thread I would like to ask a question regarding Chicago and Salafiyyah. Does anyone know of any masajid or marakaz that are clearly upon Salafiyyah in Chicago? If yes, can someone please direct me to brothers, or any contact information, in Chicago. Barak Allaahu feekum
I basically grew up in the MCC masjid where he has his office. I know him well. He?s very much into the interfaith dialogue. He?s been on several radio and television programs. His works are also widely published in the Modernist community and he is seen as an Islamic expert by the news media. Years ago he sent out his published newsletter criticizing all Muslims who did not vote. He then went on to explain that the reason the situation continues in Philistine is because we as American Muslims have not placed pressure on the government to change it. He believes that only by lobbying and so forth will the politicians listen to the Muslim population. Thus, in an effort to get our vote they will alter their foreign policy. If you?re from Chicago, you probably remember when President Bush was invited to the masjid. Well, this is the man behind the push. He encouraged all Muslims to vote for Bush as opposed to Gore and Lieberman who was Jewish. So there was this big drive to register voters and so forth. Even to the point where the worshipers in the masjid were starting to be harassed by this solicitation to vote. So this is his agenda and what he was upon. He is a man of politics. Unfortunately he succeeded in getting many Muslims to vote for this Kafir. (Mainly because of his promise of support for a Palestinian State.) Now that this man has taken office and executed his harsh polices against the Muslims, maybe these people can see the reality of what they were calling to.
