After seeing that these individuals continue to use the speech of our beloved mashaykh, as an evidence in their writings, it is befitting that the specific speech of some of these very same mashaykh is mentioned regarding al-Maktabatus-Salafiyyah

The Noble Shaykh Ahmad as-Subayee (hafidhahullaah)

quote:

All praise be to Allaah and peace and blessings upon the Messenger of Allaah sallaahu alaihi wa salaam and his family.  And to proceed,

The blessings of Allaah Azza wa Jal, upon me are many and countless. and from the greatest of blessings from Allaah Azza wa Jal upon me is that Allaah has provided us with the Noble Advising Mashaykh, and our true knowledgeable brothers and we do not cease to benefit from them and all praise is to Allaah..

And from those true knowledgeable brothers are our brothers at Maktaba Salafiyyah in Birmingham like [honorific title removed] Abdul Waahid better known as Abu Khadeejah (Hafidahhullaahu ta'ala) and the brothers there.  So these brothers and rather all of Ahlil 'ilm make mistakes, but the mistakes of Ahlus Sunnah and Ahlul 'ilm differ from the mistakes of Ahlul bida', both fundamentally and generally.  Just as the way in dealing with these differences, differs also.

So the mistake of the Scholar or student is refuted in masaa'ilul-'Ilm or the knowledge based issues, but he is not attacked or warned against or treated severely in the way the people of innovation and desires are treated.  And upon this the people of knowledge have proceeded.

So that which has come from me in speech, that anyone who attributes himself to 'ilm, could err, and it is legislated that he is refuted.

Then there is no proof for some of the students, may Allaah the Mighty and Majestic guide them, to attack and expose and be rude in regards to their brothers (at al-Maktabatus-Salafiyyah).

And I ask Allaah tabaraka wa taa'la with his beautiful names and lofty attributes that He unites the hearts upon the truth and unites those ascribing to the sunnah to be upon one word and Allaah is the granter of success.

Ahmad As-Subaa'yee.

They quote the Allaamah 'Ubayd al Jaabiree haafidhahullaah, knowing what he has said about the attacks from them and their likes..

quote:
Shaykh Ubayd al-Jaabiree: And we know in these days what has afflicted Maktabah Salafiyyah in Birmingham, from a people who ascribe to the Sunnah. And these (people), I don't know what has carried them to (make) this audacious attack. And we, all praise is due to Allah, know the Maktabah for years, and that which we advise everyone who is affiliated with the Maktabah, regardless of whether it is someone who is part of it, or one who listens to its lessons (that are organised by it), or who is close by it, that they don't pay any attention to this audacious attack.

This is because, the Maktabah, and all praise is due to Allaah, Allaah has paved the way for it in the last few years, from the people of knowledge and excellence who have become tied with it and who have acknowledged [and partaken in] its striving in calling to Allaah, the Sublime and Exalted.

And I emphasize that you do not pay attention to this hateful, large-scale attack, from some of those who ascribe to the Sunnah. And we know them to be students from the Islamic University (of Madeenah). And we know others, but we do not like to name anyone.

Assalamu Alaykum

Let us not be fooled by the latest antics of Madeenah.com as even a child can see through the latest feeble attempt to discredit our brothers at Salafi Publications.

The person on the Sunnah should remember what Shaykh Muhammed Ibn Haadee (may Allah preserve him) said about those involved with Madeenah.com and he is well acquainted with their games and deception,

quote:
Shaikh Muhammad Ibn Haadee said:

"I say, those whom the questioner has asked about, I know about them, I also know their problem, and to the well-informed (i.e. myself) have you come upon. And our brothers from al-Maktabah as-Salafiyyah in Birmingham, I know them fully (completely).

I know them for more than 13 or 14 years, no, around 15 years (in fact). And I know them, and I know the soundness of their way, and their methodology which they are upon. And those whom you have mentioned (Madeenah.com), I know, some of them used to be with us (i.e. present with us) in al-Madinah, and in this topic [i.e. of da'wah to Allaah and refuting opposers], they amount to nothing when compared to our brothers at the Maktabah Salafiyyah.

For our brothers in al-Maktabah as-Salafiyyah in Birmingham there is [in their da'wah] truthful striving and good, benificent deeds and many blessed and thanked for affairs, in disseminating the true, sound, Salafi Da'wah to people in all areas of the West, [all of] which is to be thanked for, and which is to be mentioned about them in goodness, for may Allaah reward them with goodness, and specifically the brothers, Abdul-Wahid Abu Khadeejah, and Dawud Burbank, and likewise the brother Bilal Abu Hakeem, and besides them from the Salafi brothers who are with them, co-operating with them in al-Maktabah as-Salafiyyah, from those whose names I have forgotten right now.

As for those whom you have mentioned, then they have erred with the extremity of error. And I mentioned this to some of them when they were here, and I have given direction to some of them, and I explained to them in that regard, however, they refused that they should accept. So the likes of those, if they do not return (from their way), then it is not desirable for them to be put in front of the people (to teach, give lectures).

As for al-Maktabah as-Salafiyyah and their speech regarding men, and their criticism of people in the West, then I do not know from them except goodness regarding this aspect. Rather, they ask us about everyone they know over there. So those about whom we know, we answer, and those whom we do not know, we ask them for documented [evidence] from him, from his speech (voice), which is translated when it is not in the Arabic language, or from his writings, which is translated when it is not in the Arabic language, and when it is in the Arabic language, they bring it to us with his (recorded) voice, and so on like this. And we pass judgement, and give verdict upon what we hear. And the Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam), "I am just a man, I pass judgement based upon what I hear" or as he (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) said.

The point here is that those who accuse the brothers with harshness (tashaddud) and exaggeration (ghuluww), and extremism (tatarruf), then they are in reality, erroneous. And some of them, and I say this with all truthfulness, are liars, transgressors. So we ask Allaah, the Sublime and Exalted, for guidance for the one who erred (amongst them), and we ask Allaah, the Mighty and Majestic, for guidance for the one who lied and transgressed, and that He returns him to the way of truth and correctness, and if not, then may Allaah relieve us and relieve the Muslims of his evil, indeed He is Jawaad, Kareem.

As for what relates to criticising men in the West or the East, then criticism is a legislative methodology, by way of it is the Sunnah protected, and by way of it is the religion preserved, and by way it is the aqidah protected, and by it are Ahl us-Sunnah distinguished from the Ahl ul-Bid'ah, and thus Ahl us-Sunnah are given preponderance and their way is followed, and Ahl ul-Bid'ah are warned against and they are not sought, their way is warned against. And whoever rejects this, then he is an opposer of what the Righteous Salaf were upon in this topic. And these books of the Salaf are present. And criticism is a legislative methodology and criticism of men, factions and groups is from giving of advice for the sake of religion of Allaah, the Blessed and Exalted. Thus, it is vital to explain (in the likes of this topic), for this is from the giving of advice to the people so that they are not misguided in this subject, and it is dealt with appropriately in the various places (i.e. works, books), the Scholars of the Sunnah and Hadeeth have explained it, and the Imaams of Hadeeth they are the Imaams of this matter, even if the people defy this, and even if some of the people refuse this now, and begin to renounce (this matter), for the Imaams of Hadeeth, they are the Scholars of this discipline, they are the knights of this field, and the people return to them and they (constitute) that which is depended upon in (terms of) speech (in this subject).

And this position of yours is a correct position. So if they [Madeenah.Com and associates] do not return (to what is correct) and do not repent, then they are not to be put in front of the people, nor are they to be co-operated with, rather they are to be warned against, I say, in addition to that, they are warned against so that the people can beware of them, because if the people do not beware of them, they will fall into their snare, and go astray as a result of them. We ask Allaah for pardon and safety, and all praise is due to the Lord of the Worlds."

Is the behaviour of those associated with Madeenah.com considered to be an example of refuting the one in opposition to the truth? Shaykh Ubaid Al-Jaabiree who again is familiar with the trickery of some of these individuals said,

quote:
Shaykh Ubayd al-Jaabiree said:

"And we know in these days what has afflicted Maktabah Salafiyyah in Birmingham, from a people who ascribe to the Sunnah.

Let us not forget the principle the one who knows is a proof against the one who does not; and these scholars have witnessed the activities of those involved with this website.

Again I ask the question: is this considered to be an example of refuting the one in opposition to the truth?

Shaykh Ahmad Subay'ee who advised some of those involved with madeenah.com said,

quote:
"All praise be to Allaah and peace and blessings upon the Messenger of Allaah sallaahu alaihi wa salaam and his family.  And to proceed:

The blessings of Allaah Azza wa Jal, upon me are many and countless. and from the greatest of blessings from Allaah Azza wa Jal upon me is that Allaah has provided us with the Noble Advising Mashaykh, and our true knowledgeable brothers and we do not cease to benefit from them and all praise is to Allaah..

And from those true knowledgeable brothers are our brothers at Maktaba Salafiyyah in Birmingham like [honorific title removed] Abdul-Waahid better known as Abu Khadeejah (Hafidahhullaahu ta'ala) and the brothers there.

So the mistake of the Scholar or student is refuted in masaa'ilul-'Ilm, i.e the knowledge based issues, but he is not attacked or warned against or treated severely in the way the people of innovation and desires are treated.

And I ask Allaah tabaraka wa taa'la with his beautiful names and lofty attributes that He unites the hearts upon the truth and unites those ascribing to the sunnah to be upon one word and Allaah is the granter of success."

I could respond to their article but a flimsy attempt like that does not deserve a lengthy response.

No doubt our brothers can err and whoever notices an error from Salafi Publications or anyone else should address it in the legislated fashion. However, anyone with two eyes can see that madeenah.com are very selective with what they claim is Ar-Radd 'Ala al-Mukhaalif (refuting the opposer).

Inviduals from that website have spoken with speakers like Murtaza Khan. Where is Ar-Radd 'Ala al-Mukhaalif?

They have spoken with Abu Usamah Adh-Dhahabee. Where is Ar-Radd 'Ala al-Mukhaalif?

They have spoken with organisations known for their allegiance to Al-Ma'ribee. Where is Ar-Radd 'Ala al-Mukhaalif?

What about the mistakes of Shadeed Muhammad. Where is Ar-Radd 'Ala al-Mukhaalif?

The list could go on and on...

Either they believe these organisations or individuals have no errors or they deliberately ignore them and the sweeter of the two possibilities is bitter.

So the conclusion is that madeenah.com has an agenda, as Shadeed Muhammad openly admitted himself in writing for the world to see, and this is to discredit our brothers at Salafi Publications and other Salafi brothers around the world.

Shadeed said,

quote:
"I realized while being in the Islamic University that a lot of students, including myself, have a limited scope on the da'wah in the West and tend to look at things from one angle, naturally so, due to the fact that they lack experience, no matter how much they think they may know. Upon graduating from the Islamic University and returning to America, I realized that the demands of the da'wah are far more than what I anticipated. It really requires for one to be mature and have an open mind about things and people.

I started to see that the position(s) I held about people were really not warranted. I was aware of the personal incongruous attacks made against the brothers at Salafi Publications and their efforts in the da'wah. Those articles that were posted tarnished the honor of our brothers and even some of the scholars requested for those articles to be removed from the site.

Without any consideration for the da'wah as a whole in the West, this opportunity paved the way for a launch of attacks and discredits directed towards the brothers at Salafi Publications from various websites, ultimately damaging the way that people viewed them as well as the da'wah of Salafiyah. This clarification was per the advice of our Sheikh, Muhammad Ibn Hadi Al Madkhali (Hafithahullah) in an attempt to bring about reconciliation between the brothers.

Shadeed Muhammad, before he politically aligned himself again with madeenah.com to escape owning up to his mistakes and errors, describes the attacks against the honours and efforts of our Salafi brothers at Salafi Publications. This was his testification and clarification. So either he is a LIAR or he is TRUTHFUL and even a liar can tell the truth on occasions.

In this instance we know that he is truthful because his testimony is 1. Supported by some of the above mentioned scholars. 2. Proven by their activities.

It is not just SP, and anyone who thinks that is naive. Why is it we find brothers like Dawood Adeeb named on their website, who is one of the oldest brothers involved in the Da'wah, but no mention of Abu Muslimah, Ali Tameemi, Abu Usamah, Bilal Philips...

May Allah guide the brothers at madeenah.com and allow them to see the harm they have done to the Da'wah.

Who caused the Khilaaf and upon What Basis Does Madeenah.com/Fatwah-online Seek after the Mistakes of the Salafis, Whilst Abandoning Mention of the CaIamities of Some Of the Mubtadi-ah And Their Allies at Greenlane

Shaikh Muhammad Al-Imam (hafidha-hullaah) stated: [From the Causes of Differing Is Abandonment of Something of Adherence to Islaam]

Allaah (The Most High) said:

'And from those who call themselves Christians, We took their covenant, but they have abandoned a good part of the Message that was sent to them. So We planted amongst them enmity and hatred till the Day of Resurrection.'[Al-Maa-idah:Ayah:14]

Shaikhul Islaam Ibnu Taymiyyah (rahimahullaah) stated:

So it has been reported (i.e. in the above ayah) that their abandonment of a good part of the message that was sent to them--and that is abandonment of acting upon some of that which they were commanded--was the cause of beguilement, enmity and hatred amongst them; and this is the state of affairs amongst the people of our Religion (Islaam), similar to what we find between the groups that are at difference in the fundamental principles of their Religion and its branches.....He (rahimahullaah) also said:  So when they abandoned some of that which Allaah commanded them, there occurred enmity and hatred between them.....[See Al-Ibaanah: page: 58-60]

The differing between Salafipublications and the Hizbiyyoon of Greenlane was initiated by those who continue to compromise the Obligation of Disassociation from Ahlul Bidah, even though the ulama are agreed upon the obligation of disassociating oneself from ahlul bidah.

Shaikh Ahmad Baazmool stated in Siyaanatus Salafi that a group from the people of knowledge such as Imaam Saaboonee and Imaam Baghawee have reported Ijmaa (consensus of the scholars) that Ahlul Bidah Wal-Ahwaa are to be completely boycotted. [See Siyaanatus Salafi: page: 225-243]

Suhaib Hassan, Jamiat Ahle Hadeeth UK and Ihyaa Turaath are well known to be from those who share the same platform with the people of Bidah and Hizbiyyah.  This Website is full of all such evidences for the seeker of the truth.  So upon what basis does Madeenah.com/Fatwah-online seek to ignore the falsehood of this destructive Jamiat Ahle Hadeeth/Ihyaa Turaath Alliance, whilst seeking after the so called mistakes of salafipublications?!

Where is their jealousy for the Manhaj in criticising the likes of this destructive hizbi alliance?  Why do they seek after the so called mistakes of the Salafis and leave off the Mubtadi-ah such as Ali Halabi, Al-Maribi and their allies at Greenlane and elsewhere. Who started the Fitnah, and how can they utter this false claim that they were being patient and that they desired reform when these facts are considered?!  They present this falsehood alongside little truth of what they claim to be the mistakes of the Salafis.  Shaikh Abdur Razzaaq Bin Abdul Muhsin Al-Badr (hafidha-hullaah) said:

'Indeed when falsehood along with little truth is produced/fashioned for many of the people, they accept the falsehood.' [Sharh Kitaab Tawheed: Dars Number 16. www.abadr.net]

Al-hamdulil-laah; Salafipublications (to this day) have not abandoned the obligation of disassociation from Ahlul Bidah, but Suhaib Hassan, Jamiat Ahle Hadeeth Uk, Abu Usaamah And Al-Hidaayah Bookstore are the ones who openly declare their Allegiance to the hizbies of Ihyaa Turaath; So Upon what basis does Madeenah.com ignore the grave errors and calamities of this Jamiat Hadeeth/Ihyaa Turaath Alliance, whilst seeking after the so called mistakes of the Salafis!?

We ask Allaah to protect from their deceitful ways.

Beneficial Statements of Imaam Naseerud-deen Al-Albaanee on the Precise Rules on Expelling (One) From Salafiyyah

Source: 'Durar Adh-Dhahabiyyah Fee Usool Wa-Minhaaj Ad-dawa As-salafiyyah' complied by Hasan Al-Iraaqi; and introduction by Shaikh Saaleh As-Suhaymi and Shaikh Ubaid Al-Jaabiree

The compiler stated on page 94.......

This affair is of extreme importance and that is because some (people) do not make a differentiation in the issues of Ikhtilaaf; the difference between khilaaf Manhajiy and Khilaaf Fiqhiy; likewise not differentiating between that which is differing in the usool and that which is differing in the specific  application of these usool.

The First Example:

The differing with regards to making Takfeer of the one who abandons the salaah out of laziness alongside affirmation of it (the salaah) being  waajib; Therefore it is a mistake to accuse the one (i.e. the person) who makes Takfeer of the one who abandons the salaah out of laziness of being a Khaarijiy and then using that as a basis for the obligation of warning against him; just as it is a mistake to accuse the one (i.e. the person) who does not make Takfeer (of the one who abandons the salaah out of laziness) of being a Murji.  This is because the scholars of the salaf differed in this affair and none of them accused the other.

The second Example: It is the agreement that indeed the Manhaj of ikhwaan is from the false Manaahij, but differing with regards to a person as to whether he is influenced by this abnormal Manhaj or not; because it may be that the one who criticized this person came across that which another one did not come across.  For this reason it is obligatory to ascertain before (being driven/given) to bigotry and differing, and so that our love and following of (particular) people is  (only) due to what they have with them of truth and not merely due to their personalities.

A Bit More Clarity on the Difference between Khilaaf Al-Manhajiy and Khilaaf Al-Fiqhiy

Imaam Muqbil Bin Haadee (rahimahullaah) said:

Al-Khilaaf Fiqhiy is when the evidence can carry this (meaning) or that (meaning), such as the hadeeth: 'When one of you wakes up from his sleep, he must not put his hand in a utensil till he has washed it three times, for he does not know where his hand was.' The scholars have differed in that; amongst them are those who say that the water becomes impure; and amongst them are those who say that it is forbidden (to put one's hand in the water) but it (the water) does not become impure and that this affair is an affair of worship; and amongst them are those who say that it is makrooh--disliked (to put the one's hand in the water), because he (the person) is upon certainty that his hand is in a state of purity.  So the likes of this is Ikhtilaaf fiqhiy and similar to it (also) is the uttering aloud 'Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem' during the salaah......

Khilaaf Manhajiy:  As for Al-khilaah Al-Manhajiy, it is a problematic disease such as the Manhaj of ikhwaan al-mufliseen; for their Manhaj is the entry into elections, houses of parliaments and  multiciplicy of parties.  This is considered to be Ikhtilaaf Manhajiy because it is in opposition to the book of Allaah and the Sunnah of the Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wa- alaa- aalihi wasallam).......[For further details see: Ghaaratul Ash-ritah: page: 40-41: Vol 1]

Beneficial Statements of Imaam Naseerud-deen Al Albaanee (rahimahullaah) On the Precise Rules on Expelling (One) From Salafiyyah

Imaam Naaseerud-deen Al Albaanee (rahimahullaah) stated:

There is exaggeration and neglect in responding (to this affair) which obligates contemplating on the case of the individual and to measure his speech with the scales of justice.   When we look at some of the scholars of the Salaf and some of their views and independent juristic opinions, without a doubt we will find that they have some errors and affairs that are in opposition to the authentic  Sunnah; but as long as we know that they  traversed upon the correct Manhaj of the Book and the Sunnah and that which the salaf were upon alongside the differing in some of the minor issues; for example: If a Sahaabi made a statement and no one else opposed him, is this considered a proof or not? The opposer (of this) is not expelled from the Salafi Manhaj alongside the fact that he is mistaken.

At present history repeats itself; So in respect to this affiliation to the Salaf and in respect to his closeness and distance with regards to determining his ascription to the pious predecessors, it would be said in this regard that he is either with the Salaf or that he is an opponent of the Salaf.  Therefore, for that reason it is not correct to unleash (one's tongue) against the one who announced (his ascription to the salaf), say at least with his tongue and contradicts not with his actions what he has uttered with his tongue.

It is not correct to say (about this person): He is not a salafi; as long as he calls the people to the Book and the Sunnah upon the Manhaj of the pious predecessors and not having bigoted partisanship to an Imaam from the Imaams, and moreover (not having bigoted partisanship) to a school of Islamic jurisprudence from the schools jurisprudence and moreover (not having bigoted partisanship) to a hizb from the ahzaab.  However, he has odd opinions/views in some of the affairs of Ijtihaad and this is something that will (occur), as some of the Imaams of the salaf differed in some of the affairs (of the religion).

Beneficial Statements Of Imaam Naseerud-deen Al Albaanee (rahimahullaah) On The Precise Rules On Expelling (One) From Salafiyyah

Differentiating Between the One upon Error and the Caller to It

The Shaikh (rahimahullaah) continued.....

But we give importance to the principle: Is the believer in it (i.e. the error/the odd opinion) a caller to it?

We know, as we have repeatedly stated that today there is not a group to be found upon the face of the earth, at the least of those who attribute themselves to Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jamaa-ah; never is it found amongst them one who says that the Manhaj of the Salafus Saaleh is wrong, even if he does not establish action upon that (i.e. even if he does not act in accordance to the Manhaj of the salaf).

And the one who calls to adherence to the salafus saaleh with action and dawa (may) be in opposition in some of the Furoo (subsidiary issues of the religion); (and) due to some of (his) Mukhaalafaat (in these subsidiary issues) we are not able to expel him from his affiliation (to the salaf) which he has made manifest.   However these Mukhaalafaat can alone have an effect on his personality or (influence) individuals he is surrounded by; but it can be a very big effect.  And in relation to this effect depends his distance from the Manhaj of the salaf or his closeness to it.

As for repudiating individuals calling to the Book and the Sunnah, rather they even (call) to the Manhaj of the salaf but are in opposition to some of the affairs (of the religion), then it is not befitting to charge them with opposition unless they clearly announce it; just as it has reached us about some of them that they say: We follow the Salaf in their Aqeedah and knowledge, but we do not (follow) them in their wasaa-il;
Wasaa-il: i.e. those means and ways employed in reaching dawah objectives, goals and benefits.

This (above statement of theirs) is an opposition that uproots the Manhaj of the salaf; rather it is an opposition to the call of the Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) which gave importance to Tawheed in the Makkan period.   Other Jamaa-aat say, 'we are upon the Book and the Sunnah' and (they) do not give importance to Tawheed, rather you find amongst them those who say, 'Indeed this dawah today (i.e. salafiyyah) disunites and does not unite; and for that reason it is incumbent to distance it from dawah.'

These [people (i.e. those who make these statements)] are definitely not salafi.......

The Wasaa-il of Dawah Are Tawqeefiyyah Unless Something Else Takes Them Out Of This Fold

[For more clarity on the affair of Wasaa-il of dawah: see Risaalah Titled: Al-Hujaj Al-Qawiyyah Alaa Anna Wasaa-il Ad-Dawa Tawqeefiyyah; By Shaikh Abdus Salaam Burgess (rahimahullaah) Publishers: Daarul Minhaaj.  Can also be obtained at Salafipublications Bookstore]

The Obligation of Differentiating Between Mistake in Ijtihaad and the Caller to Bidah

Indeed the Islamic legislation has pointed out the difference between mistake in Ijtihaad and innovation with regards to (their) origin, description and consequence.

The (following) of desires is (attributed to) the follower of innovation; as for the mujtahid who is firmly grounded (in knowledge), innovation does not occur from him except (due to a) slip, because he does not intend to follow the Mutashaabih: That is; he did not follow his desires.  The follower of desires is a misguided one.  Allaah [The Most High] said:

'But if they answer you not (i.e. do not believe in your doctrine of Islamic Monotheism, nor follow you), then know that they only follow their own lusts. And who is more astray than one who follows his own lusts, without guidance from Allah? Verily! Allah guides not the people who are Zalimun (wrong-doers, disobedient to Allah, and polytheists).'[Qasas; Ayah: 50]

As for the Mujtihid who pursues the positions of truth, that which occurs from him is sometimes called mistake, erroneous or a slip; because every innovator is a blameworthy sinner and every Mujtahid is rewarded.  And for this reason the Salaf used to distinguish between [the people of knowledge-the Mujtahidoon who erred] from [those callers to innovations] who are neither known for knowledge, nor for Ijtihaad, nor for seeking the truth.

To be continued......Inshaa-Allaah

The Middle Path of Ahlus Sunnah in Designating Names/Appellations and In Passing Rulings

Shaikh Ali Bin Muhammad Bin Naasir Al-Faqeehee (hafidha-hullaah) stated:

The intent behind 'Names':  are the appellations in the Religion, such as: Mumin, Muslim, Faasiq, and Kaafir.

And the intent behind 'Rulings': are the rulings on these names/ appellations in this life and the next; that is: the rulings passed on the people who have been designated these appellations/names.

This affair of designating appellations and passing judgements was the first affair from the affairs of Usool in which differences and differing occurred between the different groups after the (occurrence) of the newly invented matters and the battle between Ali Bin Abee Taalib and Mu-aawiyyah (radiyallaahu-anhumaa); and that which proceeded from that of the appearance of the khawaarij, who made Takfeer due to major sins and thus declared the one who committed major sins a kaafir, and the (appearance) of the Raafidah, the Qadariyyah and Muýtazilah.

So the people differed concerning the affair of the Major Sinner amongst the Muslims, as to what appellation is to be designated to him?  Is he a Mumin or a kaafir or an evil sinner? And what is our ruling upon these appellations in this life and the hereafter?

The groups split into two factions and (one) upon the middle path:

[1]The Khawaarij and the Muýtazilah were on one side, even though the Mutazilah opposed the Khawaarij concerning the appellation that was to be designated to (the major sinner) in this life.

[2]The pure/extreme Murji-a were on the other side (against the khawaarij and the Mutazilah)

[3]And ahlus Sunnah were upon the middle path between the [Mutazilah/khawaarij and the pure/extreme Murji-a]

This differing was based on their differing in the definition of Imaan and its reality according to each of these groups amongst them.... [Al-Wasatiyyah Wa  Nab'dzul Ghuluww: page: 22]

We Are To Return To The Kibaar, Especially In These Times In Which We Have Been Faced With The Trials Of The Mumayyi-oon And The People Of Excess And Exaggeration In Tahdheer

Brothers, when it is the case that some people have been given to exaggeration and others have been given to negligence, it is incumbent upon us to Return to The Elder Scholars And We Are Not To Be Amazed By The Speech Of Those Hasty Youth, Who Either Ignore Or Have Misunderstood The Balance Path Of The Rabbaaniyyoon Ulama In Designating Names And Passing Judgements Against Opponents.

What a calamity! Some of these youth have become intoxicated with haste and everyone who opposes them in their views is either named Hizbi, Faasiq, Dunyaawi, Taajir etc or is described as blind and misguided.

However, what is amazing about their affair is that they scream and shout in the name of defending salafiyyah and fighting hizbiyyah, but there is not a single person amongst the Major Scholars who have endorsed their stances.  And some of them say, 'we follow the daleel', so we say to them, 'take your adilla to the kibaar', for how many speak with the aayaat and the ahaadeeth but have greatly misunderstood the fundamental principles and branches leading them to erroneous judgements, Jahl, kadhib and oppression.

Further details:

Read brothers: I-laam Muwaqqi-een of Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [1/68-69].  Inshaa-Allaah, this would be enough to show you the end results of views based on misunderstanding of the texts of the Book and the Sunnah and the usool etc.
