Author: The Advice of Shaykh Falaah bin Ismaażeel bin Mandakaar to The Brothers of Ahlul Sunnah in Libya.

Questioner: żO Shaykh, by Allah we need from you a word concerning the fuelled fitnah (that is now taking place in Libya and from the random killings and terrorising of the innocent, even of those who are not involved in the demonstrations, and they have now mention the number of killings have reached into the hundreds.

So, Honourable Shaykh it is not hidden from you that the atmosphere now, in Libya is an atmosphere of war, so what is the correct stance of the Ahlul sunnah and our brothers in Libya, especially when some have issued a fatwa here obligating the revolution and demonstration, even (Yusuf) al Qardhaawi yesterday (issued a fatwa) as has reached you.

The One Protecting Life, Property, Honor from Oppressors Should Seek Face of Allaah in Justified Action

In advising those in Lybia, who are under threat, to stay home and close the doors in light of the surrounding chaos, crime and looting, Shaikh Zayd al-Madkhalee (hafidhahullaah) also advised them in case the oppressors transgressed upon (invaded) their home. He said:

quote:
Try to repel him with the least force necessary (to protect yourselves). If he refuses to leave, then repel him however you are able.

quote:
I need to stress the point about trying to repel the invader using the least force possible. An oppressor who does not desist is allowed to be fought and killed. This might even be obligatory in some cases, when the oppressor seeks to violate people's wealth, honor, and physical safety.

quote:
Repel him with the least possible force. If that does not work, then use a more forceful tactic, and so on.

quote:
The ruling on the agressive attacker (without right) in Islaam, in reality, is that he is to be fought. He will go to the Fire if he is killed, and the oppressed Muslim (who was attacked) will be a martyr in Paradise if he is hurt or killed, as mentioned by the Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam).

Shaikh Rabee bin Hadee al-Madkhalee (hafidhahullaah) - while teaching and explaining this very point in his sharh of Imam Ahmad's Usool-us-Sunnah - reminded those in attendance of an extremely important point (and the following is not a quote but a paraphrase): The one being attacked should seek the face of Allaah in either situation.

So whether the one who was unrightfully attacked is using the least force necessary (at first) or he has to resort to fighting/killing the insisting transgressor, he is to seek the face of Allaah in either case.

Ponder, dear brothers and sisters in Islaam, from Shaikh Zayd al-Madkhalee's highly beneficial advice - advice that is extracted from the Qur`an and authentic Sunnah upon the understanding of the Salaf - the superiority of acting upon the advises of the inheritors of the Prophets, as compared to the following of desires and acting upon the advises of the deviant. The difference here is - literally - the difference between Paradise and Hellfire.

If the one defending his life, property or wealth or religion is killed, he dies as a shaheed (martyr), in accordance with the statements of the Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam):

quote:
Narrated by 'Abdullah bin 'Amr bin Al-'As: I heard the Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) saying: Whoever is killed while protecting his property, then he is a martyr. (al-Bukhari, Book of Oppressions)

Abu Huraira reported: A person came to the Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) and said, "Messenger of Allaah, what do you think if a man comes to me in order to take my wealth?" He (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said: Do not surrender it to him. The man said, "(and) if he fights me for it?" He (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said: then fight (against him). So the man asked, "what do you think if I am killed?" The Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said: Then you would be a martyr. He said, "what do you think if I kill him?" The Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said: then he would be in the fire. (Muslim, Book of Eeman)

The Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said: Whoever dies for protecting his life, he is a martyr. Whoever dies protecting his wealth, he is a martyr. And whoever dies protecting his religion, he is a martyr. (At-Tirmidhi)

May Allaah support and preserve our living righteous 'ulemma, and have mercy on the inheritors (of the Prophets) who have passed.

This is yet another reminder of the tremendous blessing of Allaah upon us that He guided us not only to Islam but also to the Sunnah (The Saved Sect) - free from these 72 deviant sects which are threatened with the hellfire (such as the Khawaarij [who today go by the names of Ikhwanul Muslimeen, Qutbees, Hizb ut-Tahreer, Taliban, al-Qaedah...], the Rafidah, the Soofiyah, the Qadariyah, the Jahmiyah, Mu'tazila, Ash'ariyah...)

During a telelink with Masjid Rahmah, Shaikh Khalid Ar-Raddadee (hafidhahullaah) relayed:

quote:
(Some of the Salaf said: I don't know which of the two blessings upon me is greater, the blessing that Allaah 'azza wa jall guided me to Islam from amongst all the religions, or the blessing that Allaah 'azza wa jall guided me to the Sunnah from amongst all the groups, sects. They are two great blessings: the blessing of Islam and the Sunnah.)

Shaikh Ar-Raddadee added:

quote:
A man came to Imam Ahmad (rahimahullaah) and said: Al-Hamdulillaahi 'alal Islam (All Praise is for Allaah, for Islam). Imam Ahmad said: Bal Qul Al-Hamdulillaahi 'alal Islam wa Sunnah (Rather say, All Praise is for Allaah, for Islam and the Sunnah.)

Al-Hamdulillaah for Islam and the Sunnah.

Subhanak Allaahuma wa bihamdika ash-hadu anlaa illaaha illa anta astaghfiruka wa atubu ilayk

If I said anything correct, then it is from Allaah (subhanahu wa taa'ala), and if I erred, then that is from me and shaytan.
