Our brother, M. CHURCHILL, asks:
quote:

ibeen reading things that nullify one's islam by shaykh wahhaab and the part that i do not realy understand is when they say that khadhir went against musa shareeah the reason why is didnt Allah(swt) (the Glorified and Exalted) send musa to him i understand what the book is saying but i dont see how that khadhir went against musa shareeah tell me if i am wrong but Allah(swt) (the Glorified and Exalted) sent musa to him to show him that he does not have the most elm right inshallah please get back with me to let me know
the going against the sharee'ah (laws) of moosaa being referred to are the things he did that moosaa questioned as they seemed to go against his sharee'ah.  especially the killing of the boy.  murder was something prohibited in Moosaa's shareeah, so Moosaa said to him, "You have taken a life without that person killing another, verily you have done an awful thing"  so the idea is that Moosaa was sent to his people only and al-Khadhir was not from his people, which gives him an excuse for violating the law regarding murder.  as opposed to the message of prophet Muhammad (may Allaah raise his rank and grant him peace), which is for all the people until the Day of Judgment.  no one can claim they affirm his prophethood and do not have to observe his sharee'ah.

and Allaah knows best.

JazaakAllaahu khair akhee Moosaa.

I came across this hadeeth in Saheeh Al-Bukhaari where the Prophet sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam explains how Al-Khadhir got his name:

Narrated Abu Hurairah radi Allaahu 'anhu: The Prophet sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam said "Al-Khadhir was named so because he sat over a barren white land which turned GREEN with plantation after (his) sitting over it." Saheeh Al-Bukhaari.

Al-Khadir originating from the arabic verb خَضِرَ which means "to be green".

Just as a side point I noticed that in the english translation of the name Al-Khadhir (Moosaa's alaihi salaam companion) it is always written Al-Khidar (with the khaa maksoor (taking a kasrah) is it another way of pronouncing the name?

Akhee Moosaa?
