Asalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuh,
MashaAllah great site.
I found this quote from ibn Abbas from there:
"...Indeed Allaah the Mighty and Majestic was above His Throne before He
created anything, then He created the creation..."
I am trying to understand this in light of the ayah in the Quraan that
affirms His rising above the throne after creating the heavens and the earth
in 6 days. Can one of the tullab il'ilm clarify this inshaAllah and benefit
us all?

In the report about Jahm's wife that Dhahabee narrated in "Mukhtasar al-Uluww" from Asma'ee without mentioning the chain - then Ibn al-Qayyim in Ijthimaa' al-Juyoosh, page 105 [ With checking page 170], mentioned this same report with chain that was recorded by Ibn Abee Hathim.
Ibn Abee Hathim does have in his tafseer, narrations from his father via Asma'ee [Regarding Asma'ee itself, then there is no doubt, he is an Aalim from Basrah - see Thahdheeb of Ibn Hajr]
If anyone comes across this chain that Ibn al-Qayyim has mentioned, please post it here.
