(*) ghayr muqayyad: not restriced like "Al-Qaahiru fawqa 'ibaadihi" (Al-Qaahir above his servants). These names listed all have texts mentioned that Allaah is Ar-Rahmaan, Allaah is 'Afuww, Allaah is Al-Hakam, Allaah is Jameel, etc. Refer to the appendix of the translation of EXEMPLARY PRINCIPLES of Ibn 'Uthaymeen, rahimahullaah, for all the evidences, except for "Al-Musta'aan", see Soorah Al-Ambiyaa':112.

assalam alaykoum
in the last section you mention the name "Ar-Rabb", though the section is entitled "without "Al-"... Ar Rabb is "alif -lam" +"Rabb", so it is preceded by alif-lam isn't it?
Also we find the name "Rabb" in the qor'an, wa laakin i have not been able to see it preceded with "al", as the search engine gives 43 pages to look into...
But indeed it is mentionned in the Qor'an; could you please clear up this point?

Jazaakillaahu khayran for pointing out the error in the listing. I have moved it to it's proper category. I say that it is established with "Al-" in the Sunnah rather than without "al-" from the Qur'aan, since this was the choice of Shaykh Ibn 'Uthaymeen in Al-Qawaa'id Al-Muthlaa. A text that affirms the name with "Al-" is used first in this order, rather than one without the "Al-", and Allaah knows best. I will also be adding "Ad-Daa'im" and "Ad-Dayyaan" to the list if/when I verify the narrations that mention them, in shaa' Allaah.

In the Qur'an Al-Musta'aan is mentioned in two places:

قَالَ رَبِّ احْكُم بِالْحَقِّ وَرَبُّنَا الرَّحْمَنُ الْمُسْتَعَانُ عَلَى مَا تَصِفُونَ He (Muhammad (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam)) said:"My Lord! Judge You in truth! Our Lord is the Most Beneficent, Whose Help is to be sought against that which you attribute (unto Allâh that He has offspring, and unto Muhammad (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) that he is a sorcerer, and unto the Qur'ân that it is poetry, etc.)!" |

The question is why has this name been put in with the names that are from the Qur'aan, with "Al-", ghayr muqayyad because it seems as though this name is muqayyad (i.e. restricted).
