Bismillaah
asalaamu alaikum wa Rahmatullaahi wa Baarakaatuhu.

Afwaan if I've posted in the wrong section, I'm new to the board.
Can anyone please help clear up a matter regarding the sunnah of the bridegroom giving the wedding feast:

I refer to page 31 of 'The Etiquettes of Marriage' by Shaykh Al-Albaani (Raheem Allaah): "The wedding banquet should be held for 3 days after the first wedding night, since this was the tradition of the Prophet (salallaahu alayhi wa salam)which has reached us. On the authority of Anas (radi Allaahu anhu) who said: 'The Prophet (salallaahu alayhi wa salam) entered upon his wife and sent me to invite some men for food.' (al-Bukhaari & al-Baihaqi). Also on the authority of Anas he said: 'The Prophet (salallaahu alayhi wa salam) married Safiya, and her freedom was her dowry. He gave the feast for 3 days.'" (Abu Ya'laa and others:Hasan)

At the risk of sounding dim, do I take this to mean:
1) The waleema should take place the day after the wedding night?
2) The waleema should be laid on for 3 consecutive days? If so, can the last 2days consist of light refreshments (thinking of financial burden of providing 3days worth of food!)

If someone can please shed some light on this Inshaa'Allaah, I'd appreciate it. I have searched the boards and FatwaIslam.com to see if I can find the answer myself, but can't.

Jazaak'Allaahu khayran,
