Assalaamuaalaikum wa rahmathullahi wa barakathuhu,

al-Hamdu-Lillaah, was-Salaatu was-Salaam 'alaa Rasoo-Lillaah, wa bażad,

Can someone more knowledgeable than me please clarify the station of the parents of the messenger (SalAllahu alaihi wa sallam)?  i.e. were they Muslims? are they going to be saved or in the hell fire forever?

Wassalaamuaalaikum wa rahmathullahi wa barakathuhu,

Bismillaah Al-Hamdulillaah

This hadith from Muslim (Book of Faith) may contain part of your answer, and Allaah knows best.

Anas reported:
quote:
Verily, a person said: Messenger of Allaah, where is my father? He (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said: (He) is in the Fire. When he turned away, he (the Prophet) called him and said: Verily my father and your father are in the Fire.

Our next step is finding the sharh of this hadeeth. If you get it first, please post.

Jazakum Allaahu khairun wa baarakAllaahu fikum

Subhanak Allaahuma wa bihamdika ash-hadu anlaa illaaha illa anta astaghfiruka wa atubu ilayk

If I said anything correct, then it is from Allaah (subhanahu wa taa'ala), and if I erred, then that is from me and shaytan.

This may answer your question regarding the mother of the Prophet (sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam), and Allaah knows best.

The Prophet (sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam) said in the authentic Hadith:
quote:
I asked my Lord to permit me to visit my mother's grave, and He permitted me, and I asked His permission to seek forgiveness for her, but He did not permit me.
