What is the ruling of greeting the Shia and returning their salaam? I heard that it depends on the level of the Shia's kufr... But that is impossible to figure out unless one is close with the person and asks him/her such questions as to find the answer... Generally speaking, we sometimes come across individuals who attribute themselves to the Shi'yyah, maybe out of ignorance even, so what is the ruling on the greeting...
InshaALlah if someone can bring statements of the ulama regarding this, that would be great.
