Asalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh

I am in need of some advice regarding how to explain the Islamic ruling on pictures to non-muslims, as I have been asked several times about why we don't allow them in our homes and/or why we cross out heads of pictures. So far I have tried to explain it by mentioning idol worship and that by not allowing pictures and figurines etc we are cutting off the paths that could lead to it. However, I feel that I have not sufficiently answered their questions and have probably added to their confusion.Insha'Allah if anyone has any advice on the best way to explain it I would be most grateful.

JazakumAllahu khairen
