ASSALAM ALEIKUM:

1)WHAT IS SALAATUL HAJAH AND HOW DOES ONE PERFORM IT?

2)IS THERE A SUNNAH PRAYER BETWEEN SUNRISE AND DHUR? WHAT IS IT CALLED AND HOW IS IT PERFORMED?

Wa alaikum salam wa Rahmatullah

Regarding a prayer that can be performed between sunrise and forenoon , then is known as Salaatul Duha (also known as Salaatul Awwabeen and Ishraaq).
A very good compilation regarding this prayer by our noble brother Hasan as Somali can be found at the following link inshaAllah:

http://www.troid.org/ibaadah/as-salaah/reviving-a-sunnah-the-duha-prayer.html

Hope this helps inshaAllah.

Glory be to Allaah, Lord of the Mighty Throne. All praise is to Allaah the Lord of the Worlds. O Allaah, I ask You for Your mercy and forgiveness and I ask You for all good things and for protection from all sins. I ask You not to leave any sin without forgiving it, or any distress without relieving it, or any need which it pleases You to fulfil without fulfilling it for me.ı Then let him ask Allaah for whatever matter of this Dunyaa or the Aakhirah that he wants, for it will be granted.ı

In the English translation of Shaykh Sayyid Saabiq's book 'Fiqhus Sunnah' Supererogatory Prayer under the section 'The Prayer for Need' (Salatul Hajah) page 33 he states:

" [al-Imaam] Ahmad has on sound authority reported from Aboo Darda that the Prophet sallallaau alayhe wa sallam said: " He who make wudu, and does it properly, then prays two rak'at, Allah will grant him whatever he may pray for, sooner or later."

On page 260 of al-Imaam Muhammad ibn Nooh an-Najjaatee's book 'Tamaamul Minnah' page 260 he said: "I say: How will it be [of] sound [authority] while present in the chain is a majhool (an unknown individual)?

For indeed in the Musnad [of al-Imaam Ahmad]; vol.6, pages 442-443 by way of Maymoon Abee Muhammad al-Muraa'ee at-Tameemee [al-Imaam Yahyaa] Ibn Ma'een said: "I do not know him." [al-Imaam]Ibnu Adiyy said: "With that he would be considered unknown." And for that reason [al-Imaam] adh-Dhahabee said: ıHe is not known."

In the Fataawaa al-Lajnatid Daaıimah vol.8/162 it states:

"That which is called Salaatul-Haajah was cited in weak or irreconciable narrations ı from what we know ı which cannot be used as a proof and which are not therefore fit to be utilized for acts of worship."
As for the other prayer you mentioned then this is Duhaa or Awwaabeen and Allaah knows best!

as-salaamu 'alaikum warahmatullaahi wabarakaatuh,

Regarding your second question, please see here: http://www.troid.org/ibaadah/as-salaah/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=742&Itemid=356

Some quotes from the link above:
quote:
Abu Dharr narrated that the Messenger of Allaah  said: "In the morning charity is due from every joint of your body. Every tasbeeh (saying glory be to Allaah) is charity. Every tahmeed (saying all praise is due to Allaah) is charity. Every tahleelah (saying none has the right to be worshipped except Allaah) is charity. Every takbeerah (saying Allah is the Greatest) is charity. Enjoining the good is charity. Forbidding the evil is charity; and performing two rak'ah of Duha suffices all of this."

quote:
Shaikh Ibn `Uthaymeen -rahimahullaah- said, as occurs in 'Majmoo`ul-Fataawaa' (14/306/no.875): 'The time of the Duha Prayer is from when the sun has risen to the height of a spear, i.e. approximately a quarter or a third of an hour after having risen; until 'just before the zawaal', and 'just before the zawaal' means between ten and five minutes (prior to it)..'

Wondering who is al-Imaam Muhammad ibn Nooh an-Najjaatee rahimahullah as mentioned in the post of our Brother Dawud Adib hafidhahullah?

He is none other than Imaam Muhammad Naasiruddin al-Albaanee rahimahullah. Nasiruddin was the title given to him.

Br. Aboo Tasneem could you please give me the source for the hadith:

Abdulaah ibn Abee Awfaa al-Aslamee, who said: The Messenger of Allaah may Allah raise his rank and grant him peace came out to us and said: ıWhoever has a need from Allaah or any one from His creatures, then let him perform ablution and pray two rakıaat, then afterwards say, ıThere is no god worthy of worship except Allaah, the Forbearing, the Most Generous.
