There is an organization in southern california which is made up of individuals of a particular Asian country. The organization collects sadaqaa and zakatul-maal and sends it back to that Asian country to help the poor over there. They also organize picnics where people who are from this country participate and get to know one another. I am from this Asian country and I am being encouraged to join this organization by members of the community. I would like to verify if this falls under hizbiyyaah before making my decision. I hope someone can clarify this for me.
