Asalam u alaikum
Please make du'a for our beloved father, Sheikh Abdullah bin Abdur Rahman Al Ghudayan. The Sheikh was hospitalized last night (April 4th) after being involved in an accident (not sure of the exact cause) while making his way to the Masjid for his weekly class with the Westeners in Riyadh.
May Allah give the Sheikh ease in this trial and bring him back to good health quickly... Ameen.

Asalam u alaikum
Several Scholars, family members, students and freinds visited Sheikh Abdullah Al Ghudayan today. He is still in the intensive care unit, and he is set to have a minor operation on his jaw which was knocked out of place when a car hit him while he was crossing a street. The Sheikh's sons informed that he is doing better and it is believed that he will leave intensive care soon and be placed in a regular room. His son informed that all classes (in Saudi and abroad) are cancelled until further notice.
We ask Allah, with His Beautiful Names and Attributes to bring our beloved father back to good health quickly!

Today myself and Mujahid (student at Imam Uni.) had a chance to visit Sh. Abdullah. Upon arriving, Sheikh Abdul Azeez Ala Sheikh was just finishing his visit. It's wonderful to see how much brotherhood and love the scholars have for one another. They don't allow their busy schedules and various daily commitments to distract them from visiting one another during times of need.
At any rate, we met the sheikh's son (Turki bin Abdullah)who informed that the sheikh is doing better day after day. He requested that the brothers and sister in the West continue to make du'a for his father and he informed that he would tell his father how much we care and love him.
We will try our level best (along with other brothers that visit the sheikh) to keep everyone posted on the sheikh's health.
In closing, this reminds us of a statement of Sheikh Muhammed bin Hadee concerning Sh. Rabe'a, sheikh Muhammed said:
"When Rabe'a is gone, people will know his worth!"
Alhamdullah, this statement applies to all the scholars of ahlu sunnah. For example, if you were to speak to the brothers from Jizan, they will tell you what was the state of Jizan when Sheikh Ahmed an Najmee and Sheikh Zaid Al Mudkalee became sick at the same time earlier this year. Their (brothers from Jizan) exact words were: Jizan is dead, no classes, no life!! And although Sheikh Zaid has begun classes again, Sheikh Ahmed has been in the hospital here in Riyadh for over 4 months!! Those who never benefited from him say: We wish we had taken the time to travel and learn from him, we hope we get that chance to do so in the near future!
Sheikh Abdullah al Ghudayan teaches more than 20 books a week in Riyadh! And answers questions in his office and on the radio day after day!
We beseech Allah and ask Him to give our Sheikhs (Najmee and Ghudayan) good health, now and in the future. And we ask Him not to take away these 2 tremendous mountains of knowledge!!!

Masha Allah, by the Grace of Allah Sheikh Abdullah is doing much better. His son Turki bin Abdullah informed us that the Sheikh is walking and talking and will be removed from the ICU unit and placed in a regular hospital room soon.
His son thanked all those who made du'a for his father and asked that they continue to do so.
As for Sheikh Ahmed an Najmee, we turn to Allah and seek His mercy and forgiveness, Sheikh Ahmed has been in deep sleep for the past 4 days!!
Oh Allah, reward us in this trial and bring our beloved scholars back to good health quickly, indeed You answer the supplication of the supplicator!

Assalaamu Alaykum..
Alhamdulilah, myself and our brother Mustafa George went to visit the Shaykh between Maghrib & Isha' today (24th April). Upon arriving at the Shaykh's 'usual' room, we were informed by the hospital employees that the Shaykh had been moved to a different room. Once we got to the room, Shaykh Abdullah was sitting down on the couch and sitting with those people that had come to see and visit him.
During the sitting, the Shaykh kept repeating "May Allaah protect us from the fire (hell), this (what he went through) is nothing" - May Allaah protect our Ulamaah and cause us to benefit from them - Ameen.
* On another note, after visiting Shaykh Abdullah, we went to see Shaykh Abdullah Ibn Abdul-Azeez al-Aqeel - who is the last living student of Imaam as-Sa'dee (rahimahullah). Masha'Allaah the Shaykh is 96 years old and lives in Riyadh. The reason we went to see the Shaykh was to give condolences on account of the Shaykh's son passing away (rahimahullah)! - A biography of the Shaykh will be added soon, insha'Allaah!
Just a reminder that age is irrelevant when it comes to passing away. May Allaah preserve our Mashaykh and cause us to benefit from them - Ameen!

Summary of the report: The shaykh has recovered and was released from the hospital this past Saturday. He is currently accepting visitors daily between Maghrib and 'Eshaa'.
