As salam alaykum,

last time I have a discussion concerning the following issue:

If an American embraced Islam, and that American is in the U.S.Army, is that allowed for him to stay in the U.S.Army?

It will be great if someone can show me an Article or Fatwa (in English) or write something concerning that to bring some light in that issue.

I would also appreciate if any of the brothers can ask/relate what the scholars have said concerning:

- working on research for the US Army (even though the results may also be beneficial in other areas).

- (if such work is wrong) using such work experience (and other work experience that one may have later found out to be wrong) in a Resume (i.e. CV)
