As salaamu alaikum wa rahmatullaah

According to UK scientists, the way arsenic is excreted from the human body improves during periods of fasting.

Please check this link from Chemical Science magazine for further information:

The sunnah of fasting mondays and thursdays and the three middle days of the islamic month wont hurt either..
Just a reminder for us all (and me the most lol..)

In The Name Of Allaah The Most Merciful The Bestower Of Mercy

GUIDANCE OF THE QUR?AAN ON THE FUNDAMENTALS OF MEDICINE

The fundamentals of medicine are three:

1. Preservation of health to accomplish beneficial affairs.
2. Prevention of harmful things.
3. And repelling harmful things the body may be exposed to.

All the affairs of medicine revolve around these principles.

The Qur?aan has informed of it in the statement of Allaah (Ta-aala), with regards to the preservation of health and prevention of harm:

??And eat and drink but waste not by extravagance?? (Qur?aan. 7:31)

So He (Ta-aala) commanded with eating and drinking without which the bodies cannot be healthy/wholesome, and the most that is allowed of this indicates that food and drink is reckoned with what is suitable and beneficial for the human being in every given time and state, and He (Ta-aala) forbade extravagance in that; this being either an increase in abundance of foodstuff and beverages or a combination of both.  This is protection against all that may harm human beings.

So, if it is the case that necessary intake of food and drink is avoided in certain circumstances when it becomes injurious and harmful to the body, then what about other than it?

Likewise, Allaah has permitted the sick person to perform tayammum if the use of water will cause him harm; this is protection (on his behalf) against all that is harmful.

And Allaah has permitted the muhrim, who has an injury on his scalp to shave his head and pay fidya (i.e. he either fasts for three days, or give charity-feeding six poor people, or offer sacrifice of one sheep as a ransom).  This is from the baab of eliminating and removal of that which is harmful to the body.  So how about that which is of greater harm to it than this?

And He (Ta-aala) forbade that the body should be made to have contact with what may cause it to perish, and included in this is contact with all that can be harmful to human beings from foodstuff and medicine.   And He (Ta-aala) prevents that which harms;  By preventing what may occur and guarding against it, and by means of a contemporary remedy through beneficial medical treatment.

Likewise, is that which Allaah (subhaanah) has mentioned in His Book regarding all the amaal (actions)-such as Jihaad, Salaah, Sawm, Hajj, and the rest of the actions, and doing good to the creation, for indeed, if the intent with regards to this is to earn the Pleasure of Allaah, seeking closeness to Him, and His Reward, and doing good to His slaves?   then in this is health, and physical training for the body(ies), contentment and tranquillity for the souls, happiness for the hearts, and a special joy with regards to preservation and thriving of health, and elimination of harmful things from it.

On the whole: Indeed, all the affairs of the sharee-ah resort back to rectification of the hearts, the souls, the manners, the body(ies), wealth, the dunyah (i.e. affairs of the dunyah) and the Hereafter.  And Allaah knows best.
