Let's see... According to this form of Qiyaas, one could argue: That if a person has the ability to get in a space shuttle and fly up to the moon to sight it, then he should do so ?!!!

فَإِن لَّمْ يَسْتَجِيبُوا لَكَ فَاعْلَمْ أَنَّمَا يَتَّبِعُونَ أَهْوَاءهُمْ وَمَنْ أَضَلُّ مِمَّنِ اتَّبَعَ هَوَاهُ بِغَيْرِ هُدًى مِّنَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الظَّالِمِينَ But if they answer you not (i.e. do not believe in your doctrine of Islâmic Monotheism, nor follow you), then know that they only follow their own lusts. And who is more astray than one who follows his own lusts, without guidance from Allâh? Verily! Allâh guides not the people who are Zâlimûn (wrong-doers, disobedient to Allâh, and polytheists). |

And this is why al-Imaam Aboo Ja'far at-Tahaawee said in his book al-Aqeedatut Tahaawiyyah regarding those who use their aql (mind,logic,intellect etc,) in areas they should not be using them:
فمن رام علم ما حظر عنه علمه ولم يقنع بالتسليم فهمه حجبه مرامه عن خالص التوحيد وصافي المعرفة وصحيح الإيمان فيتذبذب بين الكفر والإيمان والتصديق والتكذيب والإقرار والإنكار موسوسا تائها شاكا لا مؤمنا مصدقا ولا جاحدا مكذبا
"Anyone who desires to know things beyond his capacity (that is, uses their mind or logic or intellect in an area that it was not created to be used for) and whose understanding or intellect is not content with surrender, will find that his desires will veil him from a pure understanding of Allaah's true Tawheed, crystal clear knowledge and correct Eemaan. He will he swerve between disbelief and belief, confirmation and denial and acceptance and rejection. He will he be subject to whisperings and find himself confused and full of doubt, being neither an accepting believer nor a denying rejector!"
May Allaah make us of those who accept what the Messenger of Allaah, sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam has given us and stay away from that which he has proscribed.
O Muslims! Fast when you see it (with the physical naked eye) and break it when you see it (with the physical naked eye)!

this khabeeth arab news runs a regular feature quoting fee thilaal al-qur'aan, and they don't seem shy at all to give fataawaa on the spot right from the fatwaa department of the newspaper office. I would be interested in cooperating with some brothers in writing some advice to them, in shaa' Allaah. Anyone interested, email me.

As-salam-u-alaykum,
more than a year ago I was pleased when someone showed me the website for arabnews. I thought, alhamdoulillah, at last a news site in English where I can get regular updates on what's going on in the Kingdom. Soon, however my illusions were shattered when in their Islam column they kept quoting `tafseer' from Sayyid Qutb. I think the last straw for me was probably when they did a piece on `scholars of reknown' and, hold on tight, it was on the father of the Mu'tazila, Waasil ibn Ataa! So, now maybe you can see where they are coming from, wa'Allahul musta'an.

Arab News "praises" one of the former HEADS of Jamaa'tut-Tableegh as a scholar of "renown"!!!

"It was his father, Sheikh Muhammad Ilyas Al-Kandhlawi, who established an organization dedicated to Islamic advocacy. Its members devote a good portion of their time to travel and educating Muslim people in their faith, trying also to explain Islam to others. This organization is well known as Tableegh, or Jama?at Al-Tableegh, with members in many countries of the world. An important aspect of this organization is that it does not concern itself with politics in any way. It is dedicated to Islamic propagation and advocacy.
Sheikh Muhammad Yusuf Al-Kandhlawi began his scholarly career in teaching and writing. However, after consulting several scholars and figures of the Tableegh, his father entrusted to him the leadership of Tableegh as he sensed his approaching death. Clearly from the above we see this paper praising a "head" of Innovation and carrier of Baatil, the son and Khaleefah of the founder of this deviant movement, Muhammad Ilyas!!!!
Truly, the authorities in the Kingdom should be alerted to the falsehood being spread by these deviants in this paper that has a huge circulation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Arab News boasts being the Kingdom's First English Daily with the largest circulation. Yet we see foolishness like this in it, with no shame. A'oothu billaah min hathal-Jahl
