Some brother(s) have repeatedly asked for a translation of this tape regarding this group in Pakistan. It is on SalafiAudio.Com broken in 12 parts of around 4-5 minutes each. As I have little time, I will only make a loose translation with the relevant points. If anybody else has the time and can contribute, you are strongly encouraged and welcome to add to this thread.

Notes from Shaykh `Ubayd's Tape on Laskhar Tayyibah: Part 1

The Shaykh praises Allaah sends salaat and salaam upon the Messenger, and then explains that before answering the question and what follows it of questions about statements coming from "Lashkar Tayyibah", which is based in Pakistan, and the Shaykh has heard that it has now changed its name to something else, to "Jamaa'at ud-Da'wah" or something like it.

Whoever looks at many of the expressions found in the questions about the condition of that jamaa'ah will find that many of them contain the takfeeri, qutbi elements.

This is an evidence to show that the jamaa'ah is takfeeriyyah and I believe that that returns back to two things a) ignorance of the sunnah, even if amongst them are those with ilm and fiqh, they are not mutafaqqiheen (have not acquired fiqh) from the Scholars of the Sunnah who nurture them upon tawheed and sunnah and fiqh upon the book and the sunnah, b) that jamaa'ah has been nurtured upon the books of Sayyid Qutb and others from the scholars of misguidance. Sayyid Qutb is the carrier of the flag of takfeer in this time, I say it explicitly. The one who knows "Milestones" knows that, for in this book he makes takfeer of the Islamic societies.

And from some of their expressions that have come in the questions, you will see this. This is the first thing I want to introduce.

Notes from Shaykh `Ubayd's Tape on Laskhar Tayyibah: Part 2

The second thing is that those who ascribe to Islaam are of two types

a) those that are judged by Tawheed and the Sunnah, and they weigh (matters) with two scales - ijmaa and text. Whatever agrees with them both is accepted, whatever opposes them is rejected from whomever it comes. This type does not put any guidance ahead of the guidance of Allaah. They believe there is no guidance other than what is found in the Book and Sunnah. They are the special ones from the ummah of Muhammad. Their model is the Messenger, then the Sahaabah then the Imaams of guidance in the first three generations (mentions the hadeeth of the best generations).

b) those who are outside of the first type - this type is mixed and it is the 72 sects (mentions the hadeeth of splitting into 73 sects) - the one that is save is the jamaa'ah and the jamaa'ah as explained by Ibn Mas`ood is whatever agrees with the truth, even if you alone. And there is also the hadeeth (which is deemed hasan due to supporting witnesses and having a correct meaning) - "those who are upon what I and my companions are upon today". This (second) type criticises different groups such as the Khawaarij, Raafidah, Extreme Soofiyyah, Qubooriyyah, the extreme Soofees are those believing in hulool, wahdat ul-wujood.

In summary, those ascribing to Islaam of two types - the Jamaa`ah, Ahl us-Sunnah, upon Tawheed and the Sunnah - and whoever opposes them is the second type - those from the sects who are destroyed.
